Heralding the birth of the unprecedented hero, Park Ji Hoon, Choi Hyun Wook, and Hong Kyung round up the lead cast for Wavve original drama Weak Hero.
Weak Hero is an action-adventure drama that chronicles the narrative of a model student who faces many sorts of violence both inside and outside of school. Additionally, the original Wavve series is based on Naver webtoon, which consists of eight episodes.
Bagging the Best Picture at the Miseonsen Short Film Festival, Yoo Su Min will helm the webtoon drama, premiering in the second half of this year.
Park Ji Hoon plays the main character, Yeon Si-eun. Using his wits and skills in developing strategic and original fighting skills, Si-eun is a person who suppresses violence inside and outside of school. It signals the birth of a hero unlike any other.
He was a willing outsider with little interest in anything other than studying, but this transformed the way he became entangled with Soo-ho and Bum-seok, making it more important than studying.
Notably, Park Ji Hoon (Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, Love Revolution, At a Distance, Spring Is Green) will this time take on a differentiated action performance with the use of intellect.
The Assemble of Another Weak Heroes
Following that, Choi Hyun Wook plays the role of Ahn Soo-ho, an honest and free soul. Although he has less interest in school, save for the promise of graduation without absences with his sole grandmother, he meets Si-eun and Beom-seok and develops a bond with them.
Choi Hyun Wook, who recently joined the ensemble cast of Twenty Five Twenty One, is attempting to reinvent himself as a “weak hero” following his win of the SBS Acting Award for Taxi Driver and Racket Boys last year.
Building friendships with Park Ji Hoon and Choi Hyun Wook, Hong Kyung represents Oh Bum-seok. Since winning the Baeksang Arts Awards for the film Innocence, he has matured through the dramas D.P. and A Distant Place.
In the drama, Bum-seok admires Si-eun, who becomes a weak hero. For the first time, he subsequently admires honesty and cool protection and has a desire to be strong. Likewise, expectations are high for Hong Kyung, who will play a complex emotional line with suction power.
Finally, Wavve encourages awaiting spectators to pique their interest in the action-packed drama that will include the three actors.

Studio Wave, a Wave-owned planning and development company, as well as Playlists and Shortcakes, will be developed as part of this work. The original company, Jaedam Media, will engage in the co-production for Weak Hero.
