KBS2 is set to bring a refreshing comical and mystery series on June 27, vouched by the anticipated lead cast of Cafe Minamdang!
Seo In Guk, Oh Yeon Seo, Kwak Si Yang, and Kang Mi Na are ready to introduce their characters for KBS2’s Cafe Minamdang. Nearing its premiere day, the cast of the series expresses their excitement as they let viewers get to know their characters more.
Directed by Go Jae Hyun (Black), Go aims to elevate his craft in mystery dramas through Cafe Minamdang. He collaborates with rookie writer Park Hye Jin, who penned The Emperor: Owner of the Mask.

Seo In Guk will make the audience’s hearts flutter as he transforms into a profiler, Nam Han-jun. He owns a fortune teller shop name Minamdang and frauds customers with his flowery words.
Nevertheless, he continues to help them with their problems despite only aiming to gain profit. Oh Yeon Seo, who will be portraying a charismatic and experienced detective, Han Jae-hee, entangles with Han-jun.
She then met his two partners, Nam Hye-jun (Kang Min Na) and Gong Soo-cheol (Kwak Shi Yang). Moreover, Jae-hee also has a partner, Cha Do-won (Kwon Soo Hyun), who aspires to be like her.
The Trickster and The Heroine
Presenting a unique character synergy for Cafe Minamdang, Seo In Guk and Oh Yeon Seo surely make a perfect pair with their visuals and charms. The plot of how a righteous detective and a scammer work together increases the curiosity of the viewers about how it will develop.

The Charming Barista, The Cool Red-Hair Hacker and The Prosecutor
Challenging the role of a handsome cafe barista by day and detective at night, Kwak Si Yang takes on the role of Gong Su-chul.
Owning a sensuous manly charm, he fights for justice with Nam Han-jun.

Working for his brother at Cafe Minamdang, Kang Mi Na (Hotel De Luna) gets to play a free-spirited and genius hacker, Nam Hye-joon. Known for being a reckless hacker from the National Intelligence Service, Mi Na portrays a character that creates problems for their team.
However, the actress is grateful to portray her and join Cafe Minamdang for its “exciting stories and unique characters.” She then proudly introduces and describes Hye-joon;
“Nam Hye-joon has a strong personality enough to spit out swear words without hesitation. But I have repeatedly agonized to show that her inner personality is warm.”
Kang also describes the series with one word, ‘Gukbap.’
“Just as I express that it is cool when I eat hot gukbap, I hope Minamdang can provide pleasant, cool, and fun with a hotter investigation story different from others.”
Lastly, Kwon Soo Hyun (Record Of Youth) will also captivate many people with his cute and charming role, Cha Do-won. He describes his character as a “long-legged uncle who wants to follow and help Han Jae-hee wherever it is.”
The actor reveals that he will portray Do-won in a reversal charm since he is a “cool but vain” character. In choosing the drama as his next project, Kwon also explained why he accepted the role, commenting;
“The speedy development and comical sights that opened the door to a tight life came to be the most attractive. Minamdang is full of stories that are light but not [that] light.”
Additionally, also gave a one-word description of the series — ‘pause.’
“I think Minamdang is a drama that can give you a break during difficult times like these days. Many people left an affectionate message saying, ‘I hope we can breathe together and take a rest together.'”
