In the 7th episode of Jinxed At First, Goo Soo-kwang finally discovered that Seul-bi and her magic were the cause of his mother’s death. However, Seon Sam-joong suddenly denies the accusations, adding more novelty if Soo-kwang’s mother’s death is accidental or not.

Jinxed At First Episode 7 Highlights
“Young-woo. Young-woo. Go find Seul-bi right now. Tell them the bad guys are here to catch her.”
Living the life they always dreamed of, Soo-kwang and Seul-bi enjoy the day as a couple. With Seul-bi by his side, his fish shop continues to flourish with her passion and creativity.
To also give her something in return, he bought a bouquet and a matching ring to surprise her. Nevertheless, their fairytale-like day shifted as Sam-joong’s men arrived in Seodong Market to look for Seul-bi.
Luckily, Sung-deok saw and felt that these men will take her away. He then ordered Young-woo to hurriedly warn everyone so they can hide and protect her.
After hearing Young-woo’s news, Soo-kwang took Seul-bi to their house while the vendors of Seodong Market buy time and distract the men.
This incident alarms and signals Soo-kwang to ask Seul-bi again about the truth.
“If what you said is true. If you were imprisoned because of that ability, did my mom die because of that?”
Finally revealing why she ran away from home, Seul-bi’s confession leaves different emotions and reactions to Soo-kwang.
He is furious to know that she was imprisoned by Min-joo’s family while feeling heartbroken to find out that his misfortunes started because of her.
Moreover, he confronts Min-joo and his father at Geumhwa Hotel to also check if Seul-bi’s confessions are true.
Regarding Sam-joong as his own father, Soo-kwang’s heart aches more to know that he plotted to kill his mother and tried killing him.
The next day, Seul-bi notices that Soo-kwang still hasn’t returned home but instead, she was surprised to see Sam-joong waiting outside.
Instead of forcing her to return to Geumhwa Hotel, he offers her some help to hide from his son.
Additionally, he warned her again about interacting with many people and dreaming to have an ordinary life.
“Don’t come to the market anymore. I need some time to think. I was in pain when I saw you. It’s not your fault. Well… Please leave.”
Deciding to push Seul-bi away from his life, Soo-kwang confronted her in front of many people to leave.
Ms. Smiley and the others were shocked that the two were arguing since they know that he was preparing for a proposal.
Realizing that he acted irrationally, he talked to Seul-bi again and asked her to return home with him. She then thinks that Soo-kwang will apologize to her privately and reconcile with her.
However, Soo-kwang calmly tells her that she needs to move out and find somewhere else to stay. By accident, Seul-bi touched his hand and foresees his future again, telling him that he need to meet a woman.
Brushing off what Seul-bi told him, he left and search for an apartment where she can stay. When he came home, Seul-bi is nowhere to be found.
Jinxed At First Episode 7 Musings
Disrupting our moments of happiness with Soo-kwang and Seul-bi’s magical love story, fate tries to separate the couple again.
Like how the vendors of Seodong Market root for the couple, it’s heartbreaking to see how ironically luck causes their misfortunes.
Nevertheless, let’s continue to cheer for them as they overcome their fates. Additionally, Seul-bi and the goddesses of fortune’s mystery about what they have to pay in order to live an ordinary life.
Even though Mi-soo and Sam-joong’s past is gradually unfolding, the big picture of their story is still difficult to see.
This episode also unveils that Mi-soo accidentally killed his mother and that what might have caused her to be the ‘monster’ Sam-joong claimed to be.
Will Seul-bi then share the same fate with her mother and become a ‘monster’ for having her freedom?
