Snowdrop Episodes 12 and 13 Key Moments

“Our plan was leaked. It means there’s a mole inside the dorm.”

Proceeding with their plan to expose the election ploy of the ruling party, Lee Gang-mu and Su-ho receive information from Han-na that she has delivered the copied tapes. Learning Su-ho’s identity, Dr. Kang understands his predicament of feeling betrayed.

He tells her she will be let go and to escape to another country while her cover is still not received. Back at the North camp, Commander Lim receives intel of the ongoings in the dorm. He advises his secretary not to tell Deputy Commander Choi and informs Director Eun of what’s happening.

Director Eun calls for the SWAT team to rescue Young-ro and plant bombs to kill the remaining hostages. In their room, Young-ro’s roommates relay disgust on how the ANSP is handling the situation not knowing that Young-ro is the daughter of the director.

Guilt overwhelms her and she seeks solitude at the dorm chapel while Su-ho stays beside her. When she realizes Su-ho is there, she shares her prayer of hoping for all of them to get out alive safe and sound.

He holds her hand and promises to keep her safe. Knowing his situation, she worries about who will take care of him but he assures her that he can manage. Through their spy networks, one of the tapes furnished by Han-na reaches Director Eun who ordered her arrest right away.

Nam Tae-il advertently tips Su-ho and Gang-mu of knowing what’s happening inside and that bombs already surround the building. Rebutting the explosion would help them in the process since the blast would be assessed coming outside, Nam Tae-il is further enraged.

Realizing Tae-il is talking to Su-ho and Gang-mu, Director Eun takes the phone and warns his agent of what will happen to Han-na. Fuming Director Eun points his gun at Nam Tae-il for inciting trouble yet again. He warns him that his daughter being rescued is the top priority.

“Even before the election, there’s already a spy in here.”

Convening at the prayer room, Gang-mu relays how their plan was found out. He also tells them there’s a mole among them. The same information was relayed by Su-ho to his comrades.

Gang-mu checks on the rooms occupied by the students but found nothing suspicious. He finds through a portion of money from Bun-ok’s room. Vehemently denying she’s not the mole, Bun-ok burst out and blames Su-ho for their current predicament.

Something about Bun-ok’s words struck Gang-mu’s memory. They both realize that a spy has been in the dorm even before the hostage situation. At that same time, Commissioner Lim receives the message from Su-ho to guarantee his sister’s safety or Dr. Kang will suffer.

But Commissioner Lim responds to order the dorm spy to kill the agents if ANSP fails their plan. Su-ho and Gang-mu check on the chickens in the kitchen and find a radio inside one of the chickens.

However, they can’t get her to speak as she throws a fit. Young-ro proposes to speak with her father, but the two refuse since she’s the sole bargaining chip they have. If Director Eun successfully gets her, the building will just be bombed.

“If anything goes wrong, you might die. All that’s left for us now is all-out war.”

All set to infiltrate the building to rescue Young-ro and Dr. Kang, Director Eun gets a call from Su-ho that Young-ro wants to meet him. Pleading to his father to save everyone, she shields Su-ho when a series of gunshots fire. Director Eun who was trying to hold it was also shot.

Taking advantage of the situation, Nam Tae Il pushes his plan to kill all the hostages and spies. He even connives with Director Eun’s assistant. They plan to take over the dorm as soon as possible.

Young-ro learns of his father’s plight and aimlessly follows the students being held at the library. Nam Tae-il proceeds with his plan and leads the boys to the mission. He stresses killing everyone except Dr. Kang.

Just when they have set food inside, Gang-mu and Su-ho take a chance with Dr. Kang’s suggestion of using her since she is Nam Tae-il’s weakness. Seeing the crying Dr. Kang, Nam Te-il halts the mission vowing to come back.

“I’ll go out and intercept the money. If the money is in our possession, they can never set off the bombs.”

Back at the dorm, they huddle on the next move since they know Tae-il will make a move before Director Eun regains consciousness. Dr. Kang proposes going out to intercept the money that they can use to strike a deal with Commander Lim.

Through Han-na, they let Director Eun’s wife know of who really caused her husband’s critical situation. Moving to send Dr. Kang outside, Su-ho gives the last-minute reminders. He also pleads that she comes back for the hostages, their comrades and his sister.

Knowing his fright that she might not return, Dr. Kang asked him to wager them leaving together to another country. Director Eun’s wife confronts Han Tae-il on his betrayal and hints at telling the First Lady who is not at all fond of him.

Dr. Kang moves to their plan with hopes that Su-ho would relent to her request. Meanwhile, Gang-mu orders Han-na to get evidence of Nam Tae-il and Dr. Kang as lovers.

Apparently, the fortune-teller the elite wives frequent is a North Korean. He was visited by Dr. Kang to forge ahead with the plan of intercepting the agreement money.

Unaware that her father has already regained consciousness, Young-ro agonizes alone. Her father and stepmother decided to keep everything a secret while planning to retaliate on Han Tae-il.

Discovering Gang-mu’s secret orders on Han-na, betrayed Su-ho points a gun at him, and Gang-mu does the same.

Snowdrop Episodes 12 and 13 Musings

Feeling a psychological resistance to the betrayal parade in Snowdrop is inescapable. Honestly, executing concrete plans to solve the dorm crisis requires an utmost leap of faith. Not just for the characters but for us viewers.

Aside from the unexpected variables that may arise, deep-seated doubts may also erupt. Just like the ending scene from the just-recent allies.

Serving us a standoff between Su-ho and Gang-mu, let’s hope they go back to business first since whittling time by chiding each other won’t do any good.

Finally, the real shining moment of the upper-class wives’ club has been unveiled in the latest episodes. Although they provided amusing fillers, we are now going to see their contribution to the series.

Three episodes more, and we say goodbye to this series. Can Dr. Kang pull off the money they need to bargain? Will she return back to the dorm to save the hostages? I’m surprised Su-ho didn’t use his trump card. Maybe, he’ll do it if she returns.

Episode 14 previews Young-ro braving the odds to stay by Su-ho’s side. We’ve been prepared for the heartbreaking love since Young-ro wrapped Su-ho’s upper body with a bandage.

But now that it might likely happen, looking back to the whole hostage-taking plot of Snowdrop, we really deserve some romantic reprieve.

Don’t miss the final week of Snowdrop! Episode 14 will be shown on Saturday with the last two episodes airing on Sunday.
