The Bionic Life (仿生人间) is finally set to be released on 18 October after much anticipation from the crowd! Co-starring Song Weilong (宋威龙) and Wen Qi (文淇), the series is also backed by a star-studded lineup in each chapter of the series, attracting much excitement from netizens. As technology advances, androids start infiltrating into society–let Song Weilong and Wen Qi lead us in finding the truth and mystery behind these androids.

As talented young actors, Song Weilong and Wen Qi’s acting skills are recognised and acknowledged by many. Often seen in a clean, gentleman-ly look, Song Weilong gained much popularity through Find Yourself (下一站是幸福) and Go Ahead (以家人之名). Shaking off his usual look, the disheveled image of him in The Bionic Life is definitely a breath of fresh air for fans.

Cheng Nuo (Song Weilong) rejected a position in a highly prestigious university so as to enter his mother’s company as he hoped to gain his mother’s attention. Yet, his efforts backfired, and shortly after he fought with her and left nasty remarks about her, the two were separated by death. Bearing a strong sense of remorse, he turned all this into anger towards the androids that his mother spent her entire time dedicating her life to.

Other than the stellar leads, the line up of supporting actors in the different story units which includes talented actors like Liu Lin (刘琳), Liu Dan (刘丹), Zu Feng (祖峰), Lü Xingchen (吕星辰), Song Ningfeng (宋宁峰) and many more.

From roles like a student, reporter, host, and to professional ones like tech workers, revolutionists, or even villains, there isn’t a single role that Liu Lin has failed to portray. In the latest trailer aired, the actress will be playing two roles, and can even be seen hurting herself and practicing her expressions in front of a mirror that in a short span of a few flashing scenes, managed to send a chill down the audiences’ spines.

Another highly discussed star in the lineup after the date announcement was made is actress Liu Dan, who plays Song Weilong’s mother in The Bionic Life. Etched in many drama fans’ mind
is the pot lady, Tao Yinghong, who was played by Liu Dan in the popular series Reset (开端). Her expression and stares in The Bionic Life have once again sent the audience back into the never-ending cycle of Reset as the almost identical expressions reminded them of her character there.

From taking the place of a neglectful mother to becoming a safe haven for a woman who suffers from long-term domestic violence, The Bionic Life’s plot tells the story of a future world where
humans have invented androids that are psychologically similar to humans. The only difference is that the former can be instilled with an “initial obsession”. Due to the rapid advancement of
this industry, many have started using androids for illegal purposes instead.

As a result, the government had to step out to entirely forbid the production and existence of such androids and at the same time, formed the “Ming Mou Genetics Research Centre” to dig
out the existing androids who have hidden themselves well between the human race. Led by their team leader Wan Guofeng (Zu Feng 祖峰), investigators Cheng Nuo and An Qiu (Wen Qi) begin their job.

From being a pair of enemies to finding the chemistry between each other while working on cases, their secrets will slowly surface.
