You Complete Me Episode 2 Key Points

“Tonight, I have to dine with my clients. I can’t go out with you.”

It’s Gao Shan’s first day at work and his team work on Xinnan Energy workload. So far, he has only built casual conversation with rich heir Su Yuan. He has also observed the visible animosity between the two teams in Most Sky. Eyeing for quick promotion, he asks Lin Wo for details about manager Wan.

Summoned by her boss, Lin Wo received a bad news that the promotion she was hoping for will go to Yaofeng. Vivian cites how her recent Most Sky mistake and Yaofeng’s new feats has made her decide to give the promotion to her boyfriend.

Overlooking Lin Wo’s proven skills, Vivian even bluntly declares that Yaofeng is better in every aspect. Hence, the promotion should go to him.

Little did Lin Wo know that the two are having an affair which Dengli unfortunately discovered. He confronts Yaofeng and they engage in a brawl with Vivian of course siding with her flame and firing Deng Li.

Calling off their Friday date, Yaofeng promises to throw a birthday party for her.

“Aren’t you afraid that I’d get jealous?”

Remembering what he eavesdropped last time about Lin Wo’s cheating boss and boyfriend, Gao Shan forces Lin Wo to drive somewhere. Enumerating her set routine that day, he quips she’s boring but got totally knocked out when she stresses on her scheduled time to call her boyfriend at night.

Suavely asking if she’s not afraid he’ll feel jealous, Lin Wo reminds him that she is taken and is in a stable relationship. Responding, he can have her time before her set schedule with Yaofeng, he promises that she will benefit on where they are bound to go.

They head to a mall and he asked Lin Wo to pick a pair of shoes. Bargaining that her agreement to buy would make him not pester her anymore, she relents just as Yaofeng and Vivian appeared. But Yaofeng saw Lin Wo and led Vivian to the opposite direction.

Keen to expose her cheating boyfriend, Gao Shan keeps leading her to them not aware that she already saw the two at the shoe store because of the mirror.

Seeing a lost little boy, Lin Wo approached him just as the two cheaters emerged from the elevator mumbling shameless comments about her. Holding back her tears, Gao Shan led her to a different direction and they silently drive back to Lin Wo’s home.

Unable to bring up her boyfriend’s unfaithfulness, which she is already aware of, they part ways in a sour mood.

“Tang Yaofeng is cheating on me.”

All dolled up for her birthday party, Lin Wo wears the shoes Gao Shan gifted her and arrives at the party with Nana. After greeting the guest, she hosted quite an amusing birthday party by showcasing her cheating boyfriend and boss.

Setting up the two in an obscene act, Lin Wo opened the window to the bar revealing Yaofeng and Vivian kissing. Rather than feeling remorseful, Yaofeng blamed Lin Wo’s business-type of dating and lack of warmth and sweetness for his swinging.

Demanding Vivian to apologize to Deng Li, Lin Wo instead received an impossible offers from her evil boss. That is to either apologize or leave Fangda.

But trust life-planner Lin Wo and her back-up plan. She slammed Vivian with the reality that she had became the biggest shareholder of the company.

Lin Wo: “I’m giving you two options now. First, apologize to Deng Li. Second, leave Fangda.”

Watching from afar, Gao Shan amusingly smiles at Lin Wo’s feistiness confronting such cheaters. Nana backed her up and showered champagne on them as well.

“I just want to plan my life well and live my life as planned. I didn’t expect it to be so hard.”

Gao Shan finds Lin Wo sitting on a bench on a pensive mood and comments how he never took her as someone who can get sad. She confronts him of knowing about everything, that’s why he took her at the mall.

Voicing out her frustration on why life is so hard when she thinks she got it all figured out, Gao Shan gave his two cents about the real deal in life. He encouraged her that at least she is smart to fend herself.

Chiding on his intention of bringing her at the mall to get a dose of the perfectly planned life she wanted to have, she questioned why he did not go full force. Telling her assignment about Manager Wan was already emailed, she told him that their business connection officially ends.

Stopping her on track, Gao Shan explained how her nature of following a strict plan made him not do his initial plan of embarrassing her. He admits feeling invested on her so he changed his mind and decided to help her.

Frustrated of throwing her life out of balance, Lin Wo complained about the repercussions of his actions. She bluntly tells him as well that she’s not interested to play with him.

“What if I can make Fangda better?”

Nana welcomes back the birthday girl who just threw a pricey party. Suggesting her dream of making Fangda better without the resources is futile, Lin Wo wondered why she’s like Gao Shan.

Based on Lin Wo’s research, Gao Shan works on his cryptic project about Manager Wan and offered himself to be his sparring partner for the day.

At Fangda, Lin Wo faces chaos and a ghosted office as Vivian withdrew her shares and all the employees joined her.

You Complete Me Episode 2 Musings

Failing to express thoughts properly and misconstruing intentions are often elements in love stories that drive its momentum. That’s where the initial connection of Gao Shan and Lin Wo happened as well. Hopefully, it will progress to them understanding each other more.

While I’m not expecting romance to progress fast since You Complete Me will run for 40 episodes, I am liking this workplace series because each episode go for an easy narration.

The careful piling of back stories that we will need when the plot thickens has also been set in motion. Notably, it does not fall short in presenting the good and the bad sides of the love pairing. Something that will show the development of how their characters will grow along the way.

A balance of romance and individual perspectives is always a welcome treat in dramaland; and we hope to see more of it from Gao Shan and Lin Wo.

P.S. My next recaps I have to cover two episodes because it’s hard to construct thoughts with one episode only.
