Hello, The Sharpshooter Opening Week Story
Aspiring sports live streamer Tang Xin (Xing Fei) needs to complete her internship mission to secure a regular spot at Rui Live. She goes to a shooting competition to cover Haiya team. There she meets again the capable captain of the team Shen Qingyuan (Hu Yitian).
Surprised that he does not recognize her when they used to date, she belatedly learns of his car accident which led to his memory loss.
Strangely, Shen Qingyuan feels an attraction to Tang Xin that led him to push her away since he deems her as a distraction.
Later, he realizes it’s useless and decides to embrace the strange emotions he’s feeling towards her as well as his goal to achieve the best possible result in his shooting career.
Meanwhile, when Tang Xin got hospitalized, Shen Qingyuan learned about her strange aversion towards particular situations and people. When their team psychologist, Dr. Ding, gives her a solution to keep her company to cure her psychological concerns, he proposes for them to live together.
She gladly agrees and they start living together. Feeling responsible and determined to solve Tang Xin’s mental condition, Shen Qingyuan even seeks his friend’s advice on how he can make her happy.
Unknown to him, Tang Xin is feeling inferior to him while nursing the love that seems to have not gone away ever since. Whenever he’s around she keeps on stammering and Dr. Ding explains that it’s part of her fight to resist him when it’s futile.
She was advised to wait if it will get better if she reconfirms Shen Qingyuan’s mutual feelings with her. Dr. Ding also urged her to work on helping Qingyuan regain his memories.
Listening to Dr. Ding’s advice of confronting Shen Qingyuan as a normal person with weaknesses, she uses what she thought would give her an upper hand. Interestingly, her scheme won’t work because Shen Qingyuan also got some pep talks from his friend on how to win her heart.
Hello, The Sharpshooter Opening Week Musings
Hitting the target right off the bat, Hello, The Sharpshooter is a refreshing youth romance story worth doting on!
Picking the series to add to your drama plate is surely a great move. I binge-watch the premiere week episodes after writing All Of Us Are Dead and Snowdrop reviews – and I sure felt invigorated after.
Signature plot tropes such as amnesia and meeting-ex-lover-years-later are incorporated in the series. Nicely done, it was tweaked enough to give a different feel.
Evident deviations from the original work are so far fitting to the refreshing mood of the drama adaptation.
Whether it will incorporate the emotional tones from the novel in the later episodes, we have yet to see. Personally, I like how the drama tweaked the story by going for more amiable and dream-chasing characters.
Highlighting the world of shooting, the series covers quite a range of viewers who can be drawn to it. The feel-good vibe is ever-present making it perfect for a weekend cap off.
Touches of topics about mental health were also revealed to have impacted the lead pair. Thus, we can assume more details about it in the next episodes along with relevant information we can absorb.
Also presenting engaging supporting characters, the secondary leads charm with how their love journey will progress. The same way how individual characters that were initially introduced would develop in the story.
Flagrant Love Synergy
Hu Yitian and Xing Fei easily reeled viewers into more sweet moments to anticipate as they rediscover what they mean to each other in Hello, The Sharpshooter.
As a self-confessed Hu Yitian fan, I enjoyed a few bouts of my heart being a sweet mess with the peppered saccharine moments he shared with Xing Fei.
More of those sweet scenes are definitely welcome.
So far, the happiness afterglow that coursed through the story assures this is gonna be a sweet rom-com ride.
