Taxi Driver 2 Opening Week Story
Two years after disbanding, the members of Rainbow Taxi Revenge Service team venture into new careers. Still Go-eun, Kyung-ku and Jin-on struggle to enjoy their jobs as they keep missing their old life.
But CEO Jang and Doki worked on cases together. The case involves a young man named Lee Dong-jae who was lured to work overseas. His father belatedly learned his son did it to help him with his financial problems.
Seeking help from the police didn’t help Dong-jae’s father at all as his son’s disappearance was already reported going against his claim. Dong-jae per the embassy’s statement refuses his father’s meddling anymore. But his father insists something feels unsettled with his son’s working conditions.
Offering their service, Do-ki goes to Vietnam to investigate. Coincidentally, Go-eun also knew about the Dong-jae’s father’s problem. So, when she was approached by Kyung-ku and Ji-on; she can’t help but involve herself.
The same goes for the techy boys of the team who went to Vietnam to become Do-ki’s reinforcement. They stumble into Madam Lim’s nest. Out of fear, they left their luggage and went wandering for a while until Do-ki found them.
At that time, Do-ki gained knowledge about illegal gaming sites operating. He posed as a student and applied for the job Dong-jae chanced upon. Through Go-eun’s help, he presents a game program that earned brownie points from the boss in the hub he’s staying.
Later, he learns the structure of the online gaming company to consist of other teams. Learning about Madam Lim from the boys, he used her yearning for Do-ki to stir trouble so they can be transported to the main hub of the gaming company.
On point to his assumption, they were brought to the hideout and meet the main boss which is surprisingly someone who knows Dong-jae’s vanishing. Do-ki chases after him at an abandoned theme park. During a standoff, the villain points his gun at Do-ki, a gun was triggered and the villain falls down lifelessly.
Taxi Driver 2 Opening Week Musings
True to its promise, Taxi Driver 2 drifted to an upgraded scale that also raised leveled-up excitement.
Along with the reunion of the lead cast, the reappearance of Madam Lim in the pilot episodes is a delightful treat. Dear drama, if her presence recurs, thank you for doing so.
Going beyond Korea with an overseas case handled by the team, the series spearheads another awareness drive to crimes often overlooked when law jurisdiction can be tricky.
It also presents how the knowledge of existing laws is a potent power for evil people to take advantage of, like in the case of Dong-jae’s father who relentlessly asked for the police’s help, but didn’t get any response because the perpetrator itself is hiding behind his position and power.
Tendering the reemergence of Rainbow Taxi Revenge Service team whose members fail to find meaning in their new lives because their hearts belong to providing a glimmer of hope to those who are weak; the series anticipates bringing its well-loved story to its adoring fans.
Pitching an intrigue, Do-ki is also bound to find the person who shot the villain, which most likely takes another villain’s spot in the narrative. Shin Jae Ha also officially introduces himself as a new character. His role is primed to be explored in future episodes.
