This year, a few notable Korean dramas exploring idols, actors and all-things Hallyu, have engaged K-Drama followers.

For avid K-Pop and K-Drama fans, the delightful romantic comedy Her Private Life is an on-point representation of the devotion. The series also takes a faint peek at the Korean entertainment world.

You’re Beautiful

A few years ago, fictional K-pop band A.N.JELL made its small screen debut in SBS hit romantic comedy You’re Beautiful.

Hong sisters made a successful splash in 2009 when they conceived the zesty story of a novice who leaves the convent to help her twin brother, who is about to debut with a popular K-pop band.

The premise of three men battling for the lead girl’s attention and parading their skills, regardless if it’s awkward or not, has been one of the fondest memories for this series.

In Radio Romance, a scriptwriter is bent to secure her radio show slot. Lucky for her they successfully cast a top actor who might be show’s last hope to continue.

Spy Myungwol

In accordance to fulfilling a military order, North Korean spy Myungwol (Han Ye Seul) infiltrates South Korea in her goal to seduce Hallyu superstar Kang Woo (Eric Mun) so that he defects to North Korea as part of their military plan to kill the Korean wave.

Yes, cutely weird right? Her persistence achieves her goal, but her emotions sway to an unexpected scenario which her undercover agent skills can’t solve. She embarks on a dangerous love affair and proves that a memorable love can spring beyond the North Korean border.
