HYOLYN, Park Bom, LOONA, Brave Girls, BINI, Alamat, SB19, And More Create A Festive Night At The “POPstival 2022”

If there is one word to describe the POPstival 2022 experience, it would be SENSATIONAL, with all the talented K-Pop and P-Pop acts gracing the Manila stage with their overflowing stage presence and charisma!

The POPstival 2022 will definitely go down in history as the first-ever event to have featured six K-Pop artists and ten P-Pop homegrown talents.

Brought to fans by Neuwave Events & Productions, the POPstival 2022 commenced on October 21, 2022, at the SMDC Festival Grounds.

Spearheaded by K-pop superstars Hyolyn, Park Bom, Brave Girls, LOONA, VIVIZ, and Be’O, alongside Filipino representatives Calista, VXON, Lady Pipay, Kaia, G22, Press Hit Play, Felip, Alamat, BINI, and SB19, the POPstival 2022 was attended by thousands of fans all around the country to celebrate this once in a lifetime experience.

The pre-concert activities for the event kicked off as early as 10AM in a separate area from the main stage. Lots of games, activities, and performances, as well as the look-alike contest, welcomed Kpop and P-pop fans. Fan booths also surrounded the floor, with most handing out freebies and selling official and unofficial merchandise.


P-Pop Artists Start The Night With A BANG

Initially scheduled to start at 5:00 PM, the event was postponed for about 46 minutes so the stage could dry before the artists took the stage due to the unexpected rainfall. The POPstival 2022 officially began with stellar performances from P-pop groups G22, VXON, and Alamat.

G22 appeared with their stunning white outfits as they opened the night with “Defy,” immediately moving to their second stage, “Babalik.” Bianca, AJ, Alfea, and Jaz then performed their powerful track, “BANG!” followed by brief solo stages, highlighting each member’s charm.

The baton is then passed on to VXON, who started their stage with each member’s solo performances before captivating the audience with “FIYAAH.” A cheerful performance of “P.S” had everyone grooving, then an energetic stage of “The Beast” left a mark on the crowd.

ALAMAT had the audience in pure excitement as the six-member ensemble arrived onstage with an engaging performance of “ABKD.” Cheers undoubtedly surrounded the grounds with “Say U Love Me,” followed by an impressive stage for “kasmala.”

K-Pop Artists Greet Their Filipino Fans With Sensational Stages

After the engaging stages from G22, VXON, and Alamat, comes Be’O, who felt amazed by the Filipino cheers. The trending Korean rapper performed eight songs, including “Suddenly,” “Without You,” “Nostalgia,” “Burnout Syndrome,” “LOVE Me,” and his Show Me The Money track “Limousine.” Be’O also performed his latest track featuring Zico, “Complex,” as well as “Counting Stars,” which had the Korean artist in awe at how loud the Filipino audience could sing along.

The night continued to be in jubilation as soon as SISTAR’s main vocalist HYOLYN appeared on stage with her elegance. HYOLYN had everyone screaming their hearts out when she performed “DALLY” and “No Thanks.” But the cheers went louder than ever when the bewitching singer performed a medley of her group’s biggest hits, “Ma Boy,” “Touch My Body,” and “Shake It.” And as if it wasn’t enough, HYOLYN also showcased her unrivaled appeal with “Layin’ Low” and “SEE SEA.”

Despite being three members short onstage, LOONA opened their stage with shine as they performed their latest single, “Flip That.” The gorgeous girl group also presented “Starlight” and “Dance On My Own” before enchanting the whole Manila stage with “Paint The Town.”

Beloved girl group Brave Girls then went onstage with the most cheerful performance of “CHI MAT BA RAM.” Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, and Yuna expressed how happy they are meeting their Filipino fans, immediately showcasing their joy with “We Ride,” “Whistle,” and the crowd favorite “Rollin’.”

Next up was VIVIZ, who had everyone go crazy as soon as they started their stage with “Love Love Love.” Followed by “Red Sun” and the debut single “BOP BOP,” it is impossible to fall for SinB, Eunha, and Umji after they have executed endless charm and cuteness with their performances and even on the ments.

Finally, Park Bom gave the audience a feeling of nostalgia as the impeccable vocalist gave tribute to her group, 2ne1, as she performed “Fire.” The 13-year legend continued captivating hearts with “Spring,” “4:44,” and “Don’t Cry.” Park Bom then had everyone on the verge of tears when she performed the ever-remarkable 2009 hit “You And I.”

A Night Filled With Love And Support

P-pop fans then took over the night when FELIP assumed the stage with his fiery performances of “Bulan” and “Palayo.” Followed by CALISTA, who left their magnificence with “Race Car,” “Christmas Rush,” and the girl group’s newest track, “Don’t Have Time.”

KAIA absolutely gained more fans as they showcased their splendor with “Blah Blah,” “Dalawa,” and “Kaya.” Then, Press Hit Play engaged with the audience with “Tell Me,” “WIN,” and “Forever Young.” Filipino BLOOMs’ fantasies then came true when BINI seized attention with “Feel Good,” “Strings,” and “No Fear.”

After such powerful stages, Lady Pipay proved her uniqueness as she hung onstage, literally. Then, the young Filipina performer showcased her dynamics with a medley of Filipino songs that had everyone singing and dancing along.

Ultimately, SB19 demonstrated why they are the King of P-pop as they did not let A’TIN down with spectacular stages of “WYAT” and “Mana.” An emotional performance of “Mapa” also had fans cheer as loud. The fans also greeted SB19 member Josh as soon as the clock struck midnight for his birthday. Then, the phenomenal P-pop boy group devoured the Manila stage with “Bazinga” before ending the 6-hour event.

The POPstival 2022 had K-pop and P-pop fans gather together on October 21, 2022, at the SMDC Festival Grounds. Meanwhile, Neuwaves Events & Productions also teased future explosive events, including Be You 2 and Epicon 2023.
