Excitement to the premiere of Destined With You overflows as latest posters capture sweet interaction between Rowoon and Jo Bo Ah.
Destined With You chronicles the story of a hotshot lawyer who has it all, but is haunted by a family curse. It turns out that the woman who is key to breaking this curse is none other than a seemingly ordinary civil servant.
Promising a sweet and pleasant romance, an inseparable fate binds the love tale in this new JTBC mid-week series.
Produced by Production SLL and C-Jes Studio, the drama is directed by Nam Ki-hoon (Kiss Sixth Sense, Voice 3, Tunnel) and penned by Roh Ji-seol.
In the drama, Jo Bo Ah (Tale of the Nine Tailed, Military Prosecutor Doberman) portrays Lee Hong-jo, a 9th-level civil servant and complaint solver at the Onju City Hall She always does her best despite suffering from complaints beyond imagination and is a person who is familiar with being alone.
As she suddenly becomes the owner of an old wooden box, she obtains a forbidden book that was thoroughly sealed 300 years ago. From there, she also holds the key to unlocking the curse of Jang Shin-yu.
Kim Rowoon (Tomorrow, The King’s Affection) transforms into Jang Shin-yu, an ace lawyer waiting for the ‘wooden box’ owner to lift the curse. He is a straightforward man with a cryptic disease. As it becomes severe, he seeks help from Lee Hong-jo, the owner of the wooden box. He is desperate to break the curse passed down from generation to generation in his family.
Rowoon, who foreshadows another compelling character expresses excitement about his new work.
“Destined With You” Rolls Out Lead Cast and Their Characters’ Sketches
A Contradicting Past and Present Connection
Accordingly, the first look teasers reveal the lead pair sitting in the office with curious sparkling eyes and effortless charisma.
The fairytale-like scenery behind them is interesting as if it implies the previous lives of the two people. It also adds to the curiosity about what they are doing at a mysterious shrine under the mysterious moonlight.
Here, the phrase “300 years ago, we are terribly destined” suggests an extraordinary relationship between Hong-jo and Shin-yu. It hints at a probable contrasting connection between the past and present.
In another poster, Shin-yu approached Hong-jo, who was smiling meaningfully with her hand resting on her chin. The question “Once upon a time, did we date?” piques interest in the kind of relationship to unfold between them.
The production team of Destined With You asserts the captivating charm of the series as a romance based on reality on top of fairytale-like fantasy material.
“You can look forward to the romance chemistry between Jo Bo Ah and Rowoon, who have built up a detailed relationship.”
Meanwhile, JTBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama Destined With You will be broadcast in August. International fans can watch it on Netflix.
