“Flowers That Bloom At Night” Reveals Cast Chemistry At Recent Script Reading Session

Continuing MBC’s luxurious historical drama lineage, Flowers That Bloom At Night is set to launch in January next year.

Flowers That Bloom At Night tells the story of Jo Yeo-hwa, a widow with two faces who is the daughter-in-law of a powerful noble family. She lives quietly without seeing the world outside as a modest virtuous woman during the day At night, when the sun goes down, she jumps over the fence and takes care of those in need without anyone knowing.

Living a spectacular double life, she accidentally gets entangled with Park Su-ho, and dreams of a tomorrow she has never imagined.

At the script reading event, the main characters gathered with the creative team. The table read began in earnest with excitement, and the actors blended in perfectly with their respective roles harmonizing their acting skills.

First, Lee Hanee, who plays the role of Jo Yeo-hwa, a two-faced masked widow, aroused admiration by skillfully portraying dual characters.

Lee Jong Won portrays Park Su-ho, a military officer with a brilliant mind and excellent martial arts skills. Su-ho is a character whose life changes after meeting the masked widow Yeo-hwa, and the special relationship between the two attracts attention.

Next, Kim Sang Joong, characterizes Seok Ji-sung, the left council member who boasts the dignity of an elite noble family. He captivates the audience by expressing Ji-sung, who has a gentle charisma.

Lastly, Lee Ki Woo suits up as Park Yun-hak, the king’s dependable helper. The actor maximizes his charm by vividly portraying his character.

In addition, the solid acting skills of reliable actors such as Park Se-hyun, Kim Mi-kyung, Seo Yi-sook, Jo Jae-yoon, Kim Gwang-gyu, Heo Jeong-do, Yoon Sabong, Jeong Yong-ju, and Kim Hyeong-mook also shone.

After completing the script reading, Lee Hanee expressed her expectations, “I received a lot of strong support energy.” Lee Jong-won said, “I was confident that we could have fun filming.” Kim Sang Joong also added, “I thought that the actors’ enthusiasm and director Jang Tae-yu’s seasoned know-how would mix well to produce a good work.”

Notably, the series will be helmed by Director Jang Tae-yu of Hyena, My Love From The Star, Tree With Deep Roots and Lovers of the Red Sky fame.

Flowers That Bloom At Night premieres on January 12 on MBC!
