tvN’s new drama, Ghost Doctor, has revealed its main leads featuring Jung Ji Hoon (Rain), Kim Bum, Uee and Son Na Eun.
Ghost Doctor depicts the heartwarming stories of a ghost doctor who cannot leave the hospital and his patients’ side even when he already crossed the afterlife.
It narrates how two doctors of contrasting backgrounds, medical abilities and personalities fuse together in one body and soul.
With a blend of fantasy and medical themes, this drama introduces a new genre to audiences.
Jung Ji Hoon, Kim Bum, Uee, and Son Na Eun acknowledged their individual roles as Cha Young-min, Ko Seung-tak, Jang Se-jin, and Oh Su-jeong, implying a distinct synergy between the four endearing protagonists.
Introducing the Four Charming Characters of Ghost Doctor
To begin, Jung Ji Hoon portrays Cha Young-min, a thoracic surgeon with a golden hand capable of saving lives with a single touch and a genius medical ability. As he gets caught up in a cryptic incident one day, he begins possessing the body of another doctor.
Similarly, Jung, who earned rave reviews for his outstanding character development in his previous series, Welcome 2 Life, is poised to dominate the small screen once again in Ghost Doctor.
Kim Bum stars as Ko Seung-tak, a resident with no luck, etiquette, or sensibilities. Evidently, Ko Seung-tak’s life was transformed by the occasion of his meeting with Cha Young-min.
Interestingly, it was claimed that much emphasis is being paid to how Kim Bum, who has previously worked on Tale of the Nine Tailed and Law School, will depict the role of Ko Seung-tak.
Consequently, Uee is expected to untangle Cha Young-min’s complicated romance as Jang Se-jin, Cha’s ex-lover and an overseas neurosurgeon. Her electrifying performances in High Society, The Nightmare, and My Only One have bolstered her career, piquing her enthusiasm for more.
Finally, Son Na Eun features as Oh Su-jeong, an ambitious emergency room intern who, contrary to conventional medicine, believes in supernatural phenomena, miracles, and fantasies.
After her appearances in Dinner Mate and Lost, she is establishing her popularity as an actress, and Ghost Doctor demonstrates another dramatic acting metamorphosis.
Accordingly, Ghost Doctor will be helmed by Bu Sung Chul, who directed My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and penned by Kim Sun Soo. This series is scheduled to air in early 2022.
