Park Gyu Young and Kang Min Hyuk top-bill the new series titled Celebrity from the streaming giant.
Rounding up the lead cast are Lee Chung Ah, Lee Dong Gun and Jun Hyo Seong. Notably, it will be helmed by Flower of Evil director Kim Chul Gyu.
Celebrity narrates the story of a woman named Seo Ari who jumps into the world where money becomes money depending on your popularity.
Playing the focal character Ari is Park Gyu Young whose most recent roles include The Devil Judge, Dali and Cocky Prince and Sweet Home. Seo Ari is a celebrity who appeared like a comet, and her life is reversed in an instant with a radical move that is different from other influencers.
Playing the male lead in Celebrity is Kang Min Hyuk. He will suit up as Han Jun-kyung, CEO of a top-tier cosmetics company in Korea. Previously, he appeared in Oh My Ladylord, How To Be Thirty and Hospital Ship. Jun-kyung’s routine life changes when he met Ari.
Next, Lee Chung Ah (Awaken, VIP) plays Yoon Si-hyun. Elegant and dignified, she is the daughter of a prestigious family and a daughter-in-law of one of the leading law firms in the country. She is a person who is envied by everyone even if she does not do social media. After meeting Ari, her life begins to crumble.
Playing Si-hyun’s husband, Jin Tae-jun, is Lee Dong Gun. The talented actor has continuously amazed viewers with his variety of roles such as Queen For Seven Days, Leverage and Angel’s Last Mission: Love. Tae-jun’s initial character sketch describes him as a man who does not choose any means and methods for his own purposes. However, he gets an annoying situation because he can’t read through Ari.
Lastly, Jun Hyo Seong continues to expand his journey as an actress after her stints in Memorist, Introverted Boss and Wanted. In Celebrity, she plays Oh Min-hye, Ari’s friend and a rising influencer. She leads Ari Seo into the world of celebrity, exhibiting her daily life that is not enviable.
A world where online popularity is money and power, Celebrity aims to explore the reality of emerging new class of celebrities who are desperate to increase the number of followers and gain influence.
