“Happiness” Gives A Peek At Curious Faces of Han Hyo Joo, Park Hyung Sik & Jo Woo Jin

Odd-looking faces of Happiness lead stars signal the cryptic mood and looming danger surrounding the apocalypse-themed series!

Happiness depicts the lives of people isolated in high-rise apartments where a miniature version of hierarchal society occurs. The fierce class discrimination and psychological warfare for survival emerge as an infectious disease hits the city. In a space where daily life collapses and existing values ​​sway, the realistic fear of doubting and guarding each other would be drawn in the story.

Slated for November release, the main poster unveiled by tvN highlights Han Hyo Joo, Park Hyung Sik and Jo Woo Jin who were engulfed in unknown fear and confusion. Their expressive faces are seen looking out of the window of an apartment building as people behind them seemingly rush to escape the place. Suggesting a chaotic situation further amplifies the mystery.

Raising expectations, not just for its starring actors, Happiness boasts acclaimed showrunners with proven hitmaking status. Helming the project is Director Ahn Gil Ho whose popular works include Record of Youth, Memories of the Alhambra, and Stranger. He will reunite with writer Han Sang Woon since their collaboration on Watcher. The screenwriter also wrote The Good Wife and Spy.

Rounding up the main cast are Lee Jun Hyuk, Park Joo Hee, Baek Hyun Jin, Park Hyeong-soo, Bae Hae Sun, and Cha Soon Bae. Together with the lead cast, they will solve pragmatic horror realistically.

The text of the released poster says, “the world until yesterday has collapsed” heightening the sense of crisis for the people. They are about to fight fiercely against cryptic infectious disease while trapped in a sealed apartment. How they will survive the situation and return to peaceful living stimulates curiosity for the anticipating viewers.

In Happiness, Han Hyo Joo takes the role of ace police officer Yoon Sae-bom who has quick situational judgment, determination and grit. Protecting her is clever and powerful detective Jung Yi-hyun, portrayed by Park Hyung Sik. Lastly, Jo Woo-jin suits up as Lieutenant Colonel Han Tae-suk, who holds the key to the infectious disease which propelled the apartment complex pandemonium.

The production team of  Happiness emphasized the struggle for survival will be realistically drawn in the series.

“The fear of something obscure that can actually massively happen, such as an infectious disease plus the psychological tension in a locked space gives a sense of thrilling pleasure along with a different kind of fun.”

Happiness will be aired for the first time on tvN at 10:40 pm on November 5.
