Thirty, Nine | Weather People

Spearheading the JTBC’s 2022 Korean Dramas’ slate next month are two eagerly-awaited series featuring friendship, romance and career.

Thirty, Nine chronicles the deep story of friendship, love, and life of three friends who are about to turn 40. This will be Son Ye Jin‘s small screen return and she will be joined by talented actresses Jeon Mi Do and Kim Ji Hyun.

Writer Yoo Young-ah, who wrote Encounter, and director Kim Sang-ho, who helmed Run On, will work together to create a sympathetic story about fantastic women.

Weekend drama depicting the work and love of the people working at Korea Meteorological Agency will be brought to life by Park Min Young and Song Kang. in Weather People.

Creator Kang Eun-kyung of The World of the Married and Misty plus writer Seon-young will pen the script. Leading the production is director Cha Young-hoon of When the Camellia Blooms.

Insider | My Liberation Diary

Insider, which drew attention with the appearances of actors Kang Ha Neul and Lee Yoo Young, was added to the drama lineup in the first half of the year. Billed as action-suspense, the series revolves around a judicial trainee who fell into the abyss during an undercover investigation fight to seize the hand of fate that was taken from him.

Director Min Yeon-hong (Missing: The Other Side), and writer Moon Man Se (The Priest) collaborate on the project.

Slated in the first half of 2022, My Liberation Diary narrates the story of three siblings and a mysterious stranger who want to escape from the reality of arduous living.

At the helm of the production is Director Kim Seok Yun whose most recent works are Law School and The Light in Your Eyes. Penning the script is Park Hae Young of My Mister and Another Miss Oh fame.

Green Mother’s Club | Cleaning Up

The drama depicts the genuine face of the elementary school community represented by the ‘Green Mothers’ Association and the dangerous network of parents in the neighborhood.

Lee Yo Won, Choo Ja Hyun, Kim Gyu Ri, Jang Hye Jin, and Ju Min Kyung embark on respective transformations of different types of mothers that can be seen in real life.

In the drama Cleaning Up, three security service cleaners jump into the stocks war. It deals with the desires and stories of people who dream of turning their lives through stocks, a dangerous opportunity that comes to a poor life in which despair rather than hope is accustomed.

Actors Yeom Jung Ah, Jeon So Min, and Kim Jae Hwa are set for the lead characters of the series

The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate

Song Joong Ki, Lee Sung Min, and Shin Hyun Been confirmed their appearances in this series which is one of the most anticipated works of JTBC in 2022. The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate chronicles the story of a devoted secretary of a chaebol family who was framed for fund embezzlement. He dies but gets a rebirth as the youngest son of the rich conglomerate company.

To be directed by Jeong Dae Yoon (W: Two Worlds, I’m Not A Robot), the script will be penned by Kim Tae Hee (Designated Survivor 60 Days, Sungkyunkwan Scandal) with JTBC Studio backing up the project. It is based on the web novel of the same name.

In addition, The Good Detective 2, Bad Mother and The Empire: Empire of Law are also under the pipeline of JTBC’s parade of 2022 Korean dramas.
