MBC spy action series Black Sun recently gathered the cast and production staff for script reading.
The birth of the blockbuster series Black Sun officially unveils this second half of 2021. The series is part of MBC’s drama lineup after two months of break.
Black Sun is powered by notable actors and created by an incredible production team.
Written by Park Seok Ho, Black Sun won the 2018 MBC Drama Script contest. It will be helmed by Kim Sung Yong (My Healing Love, Let’s Hold Hands Tightly And Watch The Sunset).
The series follows the story of a top NIS field agent who returns after he went missing. After his return, he discovered an intel traitor who caused him to fell into the depth.
Meet the awaited lead cast of Black Sun
With a big-budgeted production of 15 billion won comes a lineup of noteworthy actors.
First on the lineup is actor Namgoong Min. Known for his power in his recent dramas to achieve success, he goals for another series to add to his growing list.
Nam Gung Min turns into a top National Intelligence Service (NIS) field agent, Han Ji Hyuk. This diverse actor is acclaimed for his roles in Stove League, Doctor Prisoner and Good Manager to name a few.
Adding portrayal spice to the series is Park Ha Sun as she transforms as the head of the Crime Information Integration Center, Seo Soo Yeon. Her lovely and charming appearance as an agent is a must-awaited portrayal.
She debuted in 2005 with the hit drama series Love Needs A Miracle. In addition, Park Ha Sun leads an upcoming drama, Queen Of The Scene. She is part of the dramas No, Thank You, Birthcare Center, and Drinking Solo.
Completing the awaited synergy is Kim Ji Eun (I Have Three Boyfriends, The Best Moment To Quit Your Job). The actress’s visuals put warmth with her brave and friendly appearance, Yoo Jae Yi. This rookie and promising agent captives the viewers with her smile.

After reading the script, Namgoong Min expressed his confidence in the series. “I certainly heard that our drama would be so good because we were with good actors.”
Park Ha Sun also added, “After reading today, the script seems more interesting. I will try harder and do much better than I did when reading.”
Furthermore, Kim Ji Eun also stated her excitement. “I’ve read for the first time today with my senior, junior, and fellow actors. I was excited to make my first start pleasant. I will convey my deepest emotion to you.”
The production staff of Black Sun also described their feelings for the upcoming series. Director Kim Sung Yong stated, “It’s a fun scene where I want to go to the filming site as soon as I open my eyes in the morning and want to be more with them even after the shooting is over.”
Author Park Seok Ho added, “I was encouraged to hear that you would be with me in the middle of preparing the work. It’s so nice and happy to see you in person. Please take good care of me.”
MBC’s upcoming series Black Sun premieres in the half-second of 2021.
