Gong Yoo, Bae Doo Na & Lee Joon Prep For New Netflix Original Series “The Silent Sea”

It’s signed, sealed and just waiting for cameras to roll in – Gong Yoo, Bae Doo Na and Lee Joon are up for their newest drama venture in The Silent Sea!

Netflix officially confirmed the casting news for its latest original series which will be collaborated by superb actors and the production team.

Sketched in the distant future when the Earth has already been deserted, the series narrates the story of a special team. They are sent to secure samples from an abandoned research facility on the moon.

Playing the role Doctor Song Ji-an is actress Bae Doo Na. She is driven to unearth the mystery at the now-abandoned Balhae Base research station on the moon. Known for her illustrious film and drama projects, the actress has consistently been a darling to viewers worldwide for her roles in Netflix original series Kingdom and Sense8; as well as the critically-acclaimed series, Stranger.

Gong Yoo suits up as Han Yun-jae, the exploration team leader who must carry out a crucial mission with limited information. He puts the safety of his team members above all else and does not refrain from putting himself in jeopardy to do so. Well-loved for his acquired impressive portfolio, the actor boasts notable works such as Train to Busan, The Age of Shadows, Kim Ji-young: Born 1982 and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.

Lee Joon (Father is Strange, Lucky) takes on the role of head engineer Captain Ryu Tae-seok. He was an elite member of the Ministry of National Defense, but volunteered for the dangerous mission in an attempt to escape the stifling environment at the Ministry.

Director Choi Hang Yong, who directed the short film by the same name, will take the lead again. Teaming up with writer Park Eunkyo of the film Mother is lauded actor Jung Woo-sung. who takes the rein as an executive producer of the show.

The Silent Sea, to be produced by Artist Studio, will be released worldwide, only on Netflix.
