A new romantic comedy historical drama is underway for MBC!
The network has confirmed that Park Ju Hyun, Kim Young Dae, and Kim Woo Seok will appear in 금혼령 The Forbidden Marriage (WT)
Aiming to add another delightful sageuk, The Forbidden Marriage explores the marriage ban ordered by King Yi Heon when he lost the crown princess seven years ago.
But then a con artist declares to the king that she can let the spirit of the dead princess possess her body.
In the drama, Park Ju Hyun plays the fraudster So-Rang. She has proved her broad acting skills in Mouse and Zombie Detective. Expectations are high for a new challenging role for the talented actress.
Next, playing the main character Yi Heon, the king of Joseon is Kim Young Dae. Previously, he starred in Extraordinary You, Penthouse, and Shooting Star.
Yi Heon’s character depicts a man who is willing to go to any length for the woman he loves, which piques interest in how Kim Young Dae will portray the character full of sweet charms.
Lastly, Kim Woo Seok plays Lee Shin-won, the eldest son of a prominent household. Shin-won’s character sketch reveals his warm personality but he could also go indifferent.
The talented actor has imprinted his presence on the small screen through works, particularly in Voice 2, 3 and 4, Rookie Cops, and Military Prosecutor Doberman.
The Forbidden Marriage is a drama based on Cheon Ji Hye‘s web novel, which was also adapted into a well-loved webtoon.
Writer Cheon Ji Hye will be in charge of the drama’s script. Helming the production is Park Sang Woo, co-director of My Secret Terrius and Never Twice.
The series is scheduled to air in the second half of 2022.
