Again My Life Episode 4 and 5 Highlights
Surprised to see the Grim Reaper who gave him his second chance at life, Hee-woo ponders about the anomaly. He deduces that Han Ji-hyun could have died before him.
After the symposium, Hee-woo goes to where Hee-a and Min-soo were drinking. When a cryptic man follows Hee-a, he confronts him and learns of her identity as the only daughter of Chunha Group.
She asks Hee-woo to keep her identity a secret. Later, her father receives the report about his daughter’s brilliant classmate. Chairman Kim also gets a visit from Cho Tae Sub who insists on acquiring a business that is already hopeless.
Saving Haha Talk
Min-soo introduces his med school classmate Moon Sung-hwan who also transitioned to studying law. He is also developing a communication app that is in the final stage to acquire funding from Chunha Communications.
Recognizing his future fate as the developer of Haha talk who lost his program after losing a lawsuit, Hee-woo sets up a plan to help him. Hitting two birds with one stone, he has also earned brownie points from Prosecutor Jang who was needing a big case.
By sharing with Hee-a that Haha talk was developed by their schoolmate, she extended the information to his father who was able to sense the man leading his telecom business leans toward a shady plan.
The Warning From Pluto
Chairman Kim cuts a deal with Cho Tae Sub who backed up the evil CEO handling Chunha telecoms. In the end, Cho cuts him out cleanly and even stages his suicide.
While Hee-woo thought of investing Grandpa’s money in Haha talk, he learns that Sung-hwan has already signed up with Chunha telecoms. Along with that, he discovers that Sung-hwan also received a warning from an anonymous person named Pluto.
Together with Min-soo, he also unlocked the identity of Pluto as Director Han aka the Grim Reaper.
Chunha Group Takes Over Mirae Motors
Trust Cho Tae Sub to be unfazed when his initial plan failed to materialize. As part of Chairman Kim’s deal by dropping his minion who almost caused them to lose Haha Talk’s technology, Cho’s initial request for Chunha Group to salvage Mirae Motors proceeded.
Handing another case to Prosecutor Jang, Hee-woo this time helps a bright high schooler whose father was framed for a crime. He knows well the case since it was his first case as a prosecutor.
7 Years Later
Whilst protecting the people he cherishes, there’s one thing he can’t escape again – military conscription. Hee-woo decides to enter the camp as soon as he got the notice. Coincidentally, Hee-a also leaves to study abroad. But she has faintly declared that she was smitten by him.
Seven years later, Hee-woo officially becomes a prosecutor and goes to a humble countryside office even when he graduated top of the training school. His plan is to bring a principled prosecutor, Jeon Suk Kyu, who was sent to the countryside for poking at the big shots in Seoul.
Subduing a gang operating a gambling den, he got a fighter that he would be using to protect him and his side-kick Sang-man. However, his feat was not appreciated by Prosecutor Jeon.
Again My Life Episode 4 and 5 Musings
Again My Life gives us a hero who knows how to make use of his future knowledge’s advantage. Thus, it makes a gratifying expectation how he would proceed with his plan to outsmart and punish the equally formidable villain.
His journey feels like those spirited anime-adventure series where the lead hero slowly gathers his troop that would help him along the way to his ultimate goal.
Since her portrayal in The Veil, it’s easy to look forward to Kim Ji Eun’s succeeding projects. She’s a charmer and brings so much vigor to her character. Notably, her faint flirtation with the clueless Hee-woo lightens the mood of the series in a nice way. If romance will be inserted along the way, that would be not a bad idea.
Changing the course of the future, Hee-woo has established his connections well among people he didn’t have before. His recluse personality has lightened up in preparation for his end game. That small change in him actually will make a difference in his plan.
Now that Hee-woo has money and reliable friends – all he needs is more power. At the rate of how he’s moving his getting there.
Layered with plenty of humor and interesting character, it’s amazing how the narrative keeps the engrossing appeal of Kim Hee-woo while making the small and supporting cast shine as well.
