Alchemy of Souls Part 2

Alchemy of Souls Part 2 Episode 7 Highlights

Hell hath no fury when Jang Wook’s bestie gets bullied. Learning from Bu-yeon about Seo Yul’s concern, he barely made it in time to save his friend. As parties acknowledge a rift would emerge if Seo Yul dies, the senior leaders worry about the situation.

Unfortunately, as the parasite already entered Yu’ls core energy, it would be impossible to take it out. Furious, Wook heads to Cheonbugwan. Prince Won who learned about it pleads to stop his plan. He explains that he understands what he has been fighting for. But when Cheonbugwan mages attempt to attack, Songrim’s mages stand to back up Wook’s plan.

“You should go to the constellation basin and pray to the stars that Yul survive this ordeal by whatever means. If Yul does not survive, you will surely die.”

Relenting to Prince Won’s adjuration, Wook agrees only if Jin Mu takes responsibility for his misgiving. He sadly does not know as well how to remove the parasite. Thus, he asked for the seasoned leaders of the Unanimous Assembly who were all enraged about the situation.

In the midst of it, they arrive at the conclusion to seek help from Lady Jin since the parasite came from Jinyowon. Personality requested by the King, Lady Jin concedes and tells her son-in-law to visit Jinyowon. Wook warns Jin Mu he better pray for Yul’s survival because if not, he would really die.

Striking a deal to send back Bu-yeon so she would provide them with the solution to Yul’s problem, Wook agreed to send Bu-yeon back.

Looping in Bu-yeon, Crown Prince Won and Jang Wook to the mission to save Yul, they successfully completed their task and brought back Yul to life.

Knowing she’s the condition her mother asked for to help Yul’s situation, Bu-yeon disappointingly bid goodbye to Wook thinking she has not really occupied a bit of space in his mind and heart.

“He will never know what he had until its gone.”

Waking up after three days, Yul was briefed about what happened. He also converses with Master Lee letting him know his awareness of Bu-yeon’s situation absorbing Naksu’s energy. Master Lee further explains to him that eventually when Bu-yeon regains her energy through Naksu, the latter will disappear.

Unknown to them, another person has accidentally stumbled on Naksu’s secret. Yun-ok peeks at Yul’s letter and learns it from there.

Meanwhile, Wook is not aware that Bu-yeon did not go yet to Jinyowon and is still checking on Yul’s progress. He is also having serious contemplation as words from Master Park and Maidservant Kim ring through his thoughts.

Playing along with his situation is Bu-yeon’s lamp that keeps flickering as if stressing him to choose or not to bring her back home.

Fetched by Cho-yeon, Bu-yeon agrees to go home but gets the Songrim plaque that she left at Jeongjingak first. There, she finds Jang Wook who was holding the plaque.

Belatedly confessing why he wanted her to be by his side initially, Bu-yeon responded how she knew it all along. Still not getting a satisfying answer from him, she motions to leave. But in a sweet explanation of how he was making a choice based on the flickering Jinyowon lamp, he tells her that if it sparks, he was thinking of sending her back, and if the flame dies down, he will pine for her.

Inching closer, Bu-yeon blows air on his face and declares she just turned off the lamp because that’s what she wants to do. Without any more reservation, Jang Wook pulls Bu-yeon closer and kisses her with all his heart.

Alchemy of Souls Part 2 Episode 7 Musings

Finally, the romance is in full bloom in Alchemy of Souls Part 2. Just what we need when we brace ourselves for the expected mayhem that would arrive if Naksu’s secret is out in the open.

At this point, what Jin Mu initially used to propel the chaos three years ago might be what he will be unleashing again. Thankfully, Yul is back healthy so he can be a great reinforcement for Wook.

Updating us with the technicalities of the two souls inside Bu-yeon’s body, based on Master Lee’s words, Naksu’s soul eventually will be kicked out when Bu-yeon regains her energy. True to what we initially deduced of how Bu-yeon being an energy magnet can dispel Naksu once she has used up all her energy.

However, given the stigma that Naksu created in Daeho previously owing to Jin Mu’s manipulation; it won’t sit well with Lady Jin’s intended secret to save her daughter. Similarly, Jang Wook would of course protect Naksu at all costs.

Sides will be taken in the remaining stretch of the series. Is Prince Won threatened by Jang Wook’s real destiny or is Bu-yeon right in her assessment that he has a passionate heart?

Will Yun-ok stir trouble with her recent discovery involving her love nemesis? Will Yul keep to himself Naksu’s secret despite being saved by Wook?
