Hong-jo and Shin-yu seal their connection but the visions that she retrieves from their past pushed her to give up on what they so far have.

Destined With You Episodes 11 and 12 Highlights
“How can I sleep? You are right in front of my eyes.”
On a spontaneous date, Hong-jo and Shin-yu’s sweet moment gets interrupted when as they almost kiss, he sees a vision of the bloody hand when she touches his face.
Opting not to talk about his concern, they head back and stop for a quick clothing shopping for Hong-jo. Later, they settle in a house and when she realizes it is late and he has not checked on her yet, she goes to check on him.
She ends up lying on the bed with him as he watches her sleep. The next day, they go to see the New Year’s sunrise and bump into Jae-kyung who was also there for sightseeing.
Nurturing their young romance, Shin-yu confirms with his assistant about his breakup with Na-yeon who also reported that the plant, which was prepared by the gardener, was sent by her.
When Hong-jo’s teammates proceed with a chimaek and karaoke plan, Shin-yu drags his assistant so he can join them. He sends her home and she is surprised when Jae-kyung who appears to be drunk spouts about his feelings for her crush on him which quickly faded.
“Why would I even ask you? Obviously, you would deny doing it.”
Noticing some irregularities in some city hall projects tied up to the gardener’s business, Shin-yu speaks with him about it.
While Hong-jo is on a task to find a pit in a forest, Shin-yu and some city hall officers visit the site of a tree due for cutting. Surprise awaits them as a human skeleton is found. Shin-yu has some suspicions that it could be the gardener’s missing wife.
Unaware that the gardener has been following Hong-jo, she is pushed into a pit and loses consciousness. About to bury her alive, Shin-yu calls the gardener to tell him about human bones discovered under the old tree at Nuri park.
On Mount Onju, Shin-yu searches for Hong-jo who regained consciousness. They were able to converse over the phone but hers died because of battery power.
Fortunately, Shin-yu finds her but as he reaches his hand, visions of Hong-jo’s past life suddenly erupt. Later, she confesses about her quick glimpse of her past life and gets curious about his dream which of course he couldn’t tell since their past life was heartbreaking.
“Crown Frog Prince, take my kiss!”
Both Hong-jo and Shin-yu visited the nearby store at Mount Onju and realized the gardener was there. They also bump into each other at the gardener’s place but find him not there.
He reminds her to be extra careful and as a couple should tell him her whereabouts. Unknown to them, the gardener observed them from inside through his CCTV feed.
Worried about Shin-yu fainting, Hong-jo surprises him by giving him a curse-defying kiss. However, their sweet moment gets interrupted by Shin-yu’s assistant who tells him the mayor is looking for him.
With his father in the room, they brought up marriage so he has no choice but to meet Na-yeon. All along he knew that she was having an affair with Hyun-seo, so he set them up on a date.
“The bloody hand, did you know it was me.?”
After a night out with her team, Hong-jo goes home to Shin-yu. But when she wakes up in the middle of the night, she gets a vision of their past again. Shin-yu wakes up without Hong-jo by his side.
He receives a call from him and picks her up near the hospice where his grandmother is. She asks him if it is okay for them to see the snow.
Receiving a go signal to bring Hong-jo to his father’s birthday, she turns it down because of her vision. Shin-yu reminds how she said the present is what matters but when she moves to touch his face, Shin-yu evades it.
She asks him if he knows she is the bloody hand appearing in his visions. A flashback from the past reveals Shin-yu killing Hong-jo’s past self, Aeng-cho. Both in pain and crying, Aeng-cho tells him that the person who kills her will be cursed. With her hand covered by her blood, she reaches to touch his face.
Destined With You Episodes 11 and 12 Musings
It’s hard to understand why Destined With You made us momentarily happy only to stop it when we still crave for sweet moments with Hong-jo and Shin-yu.
It was even established early on that Hong-jo only cares for the present so her change of heart was a bit disappointing.
If it is her way of shielding Shin-yu from pain, then she should know that his medical condition is not a good situation. This indecisiveness, hopefully, can be explained further in future episodes.
Since there are still unresolved concerns from Na-yeon and the gardener, the more they need to stay closer to each other.
Why Shin-ju’s past self had to kill Aeng-cho of course has a reason and we can’t wait to know it.
