“Destined With You” Episodes 5 and 6 Boldly Make A Love Confession Amidst A Growing Romance Triangle

Shin-yu’s adorable love-struck lines and Jae-kyungs dry humor make the male leads in Destined With You such an engrossing watch.

As Na-yeon also marks her territory over Shin-yu, the love spell cast by Hong-jo interestingly excites the development of the love lines in the series.

Destined With You

Destined With You Episodes 5 and 6 Highlights

Hong-jo cast a love spell that fell not on her intended recipient last week in Destined With You.

She also cast the curse-dispelling spell for Shin-yu. But while the love spell worked, the curse-dispelling spell is yet to confirm its success.

“I’m not her boyfriend nor a strange guy. But I am Hong-jo’s destiny.”

Tagging along with Hong-jo to commemorate her father’s death anniversary, Shin-yu accompanied her diligently.

They both agree to go against the irreversible destinies they shared. He demands her not to answer his phone calls or text messages.

Shin-yu also reunites with Na-yeon who declares being okay with his sickness. However, while on a date with her, he gets distracted by a woman who looks like Hong-jo so he finds himself in front of her place.

He continues to battle the love spell but he is failing miserably. In a flashback, Shin-yu learns about how Hong-jo was bullied and how her father died. His heart aches for her pain.

Meanwhile, Jae-kyung invites Hong-jo to a housewarming party after seeing her fixing the plants in the yard. They get to spend some cozy time.

Unaware that Hong-jo means Jae-kyung as her first-floor destiny, Shin-yu meets her when he gets drunk and finds himself in front of her house again.

Hong-jo drives him home and when he feels sick, they sit somewhere. Offering a disaster-dispelling spell, drunk Shin-yu smirks realizing he is a disaster for her.

Telling her how he just found out about his drunken habit, he inches closer motioning for a kiss.

“Hold it in for a few more days. Those feelings will disappear soon anyway.”

Unable to remember what happened the night before, Shin-yu feels bothered about it.

Later, Hong-jo also meets with Jae-kyung who joins her for lunch at a convenience store. They have a quick chat about her situation.

At night, Shin-yu calls Hong-jo because he is unable to focus on his case. Vocally saying he misses her; he asserts his feelings are love-spell driven. While looking for her favorite pajama, she tries to appease him by saying the disaster nullification spell will be done soon.

Curiously, she received a bouquet of roses and both Jae-kyung and Shin-yu denied sending it.

The next day, Shin-yu meets Lee Hyun-seo, the scumbag chaebol client from his previous company. He agrees to pay money since he knows he will lose the case.

On D-Day of Disaster Nullification Spell, Hong-jo takes a peek at the full moon and recollects the night Shin-yu got drunk. The kiss did not happen because he dozed off. She also brought him back to his place. When she is about to go home, he mumbles how he does not want to go with the disaster nullification spell.

He makes a clear assertion of how the recent events and feelings he had for Hong-jo are not generated by the love spell but it is really true love.

They go to a park to perform the spell but get momentarily sidetracked when a woman asks for help to find her dog.

“Apparently, I love her. I love Lee Hong-jo.”

Insisting not to proceed with the spell anymore, Hong-jo reminded Shin-yu about his relationship with Na-yeon. She also thanks him genuinely for joining her when she honored her father. Confessing her life has become less lonely because of his constant phone calls.

They proceed on the spell and go home separately. In the morning, Shin-yu calls Hong-jo to tell her that he did not think of her the whole night.

Happy that the spell worked, she went to work in a good mood. Her luck continues as Jae-kyung offers her a ride. She tells him to drop her near the city hall to avoid gossip.

Turns out her love spell potion was also drunk by a garden owner who actually sent the roses and has been making advances on her.

Luckily, Shin-yu steps in to help her politely decline the invite.

Apparently, the charm did not work and will not work because Hong-jo made a mistake on the character she wrote on the red paper.

While conversing about the mishap, Jae-kyung arrives and chides Shin-yu for breaking his promise of not going to their house anymore.

Right there and then, Shin-yu makes a bold declaration that he loves Hong-jo.

Destined With You Episodes 5 and 6 Musings

Lively characters are so far one of the best merits of Destined With You. In particular, the four lead stars show commitment to making each of their roles distinctly gravitating.

Hong-jo’s bubbliness blends well with how Shin-yu navigates his internal fight knowing he is under a love spell. Rowoon’s cringy and cute lines coupled with Ha Jun’s perfect rendition of Jae-kyung’s boring but adorable humor as well as Na-yeon’s fake kindness contribute to the feel-good run of the series.

We are actually getting the best of both oppa worlds from Rowoon and Ha Jun. Praying for how Hong-jo would fail to cast spells that would break the love spell seems sensible advocacy for followers of this series.

Now that Hong-jo caused a disaster instead of dispelling it, her bond with Shin-yu might have been strengthened. Seeing Jae-kyung’s actions appear to be drawn to Hong-jo, we can expect a love triangle on the horizon. Adding Na-yeon to this mix, and we can expect confrontations along the way.

How will Hong-jo respond to Shin-yu’s love declaration? Will Jae-kyung also pursue Hong-jo?

Let fated connection and romance warm your heart in Destined With You. International fans can watch the series on Netflix.
