Doctor Cha Episode 13 and 14 Highlights
Previously, Jeong-suk brings up divorce to In-ho and the shock literally made him faint.
Thankfully, he recovered right away. While In-ho’s mom encourages him to not give up and does everything for her not to leave, Jeong-suk talks to her children about their family’s future.
Keen to win back his wife, In-ho does the mushy and grand gestures of love which only infuriates Jeong-suk more.
“Your life changes depending on the people you meet.”
Thankfully, Jung-min’s patient’s parents decide not to sue the hospital anymore. Dr. Roy patiently explains why Ji-seon died and Jung-min also genuinely expressed how sorry he was for not being able to save their daughter. The latter also reunites with So-ra and was even found by Jeong-suk kissing secretly in the hospital.
Learning about her mother’s medical condition, Jeong-suk brings her to the hospital for treatment.
Seung-hi is appointed as the attending physician. In all fairness to her, she diligently works on the best treatment for Jeong-suk’s mother’s rare medical condition.
Finding an opportunity to be on his wife’s side, In-ho set up a family dinner. However, his mom’s boyfriend’s wife causes a ruckus and also blurts out the secret that Jeong-suk’s mom does not know about. That he fathered a child out of wedlock.
“Do not abandon your chance to become a better person and mother. Live an honorable life for yourself. That is when you’ll find real happiness.”
Understanding her daughter’s request to change her doctor, Jeong-suk’s mom connects the puzzles related to her daughter’s current predicament.
Initially refusing to proceed with treatment in the hospital, Jeong-suk pleads and her mom relents.
Fortunately, Seung-hee figures out the tricky condition and was able to administer the correct medicine which cured Jeong-suk’s mother. Sending Seung-hee a letter, Jeong-suk’s mother penned a heartening and sympathetic message for her to live an honorable life to finally be happy.
Meanwhile, after going with Dr. Roy in meeting his birth family, Jeong-suk suggests running when she sensed the meeting dampened his mood.
The next day, feeling lethargic Jeong-suk feels lightheaded and gets surprised when she coughed up blood.
Doctor Cha Episode 13 and 14 Musings
Tying up the loose ends of the narrative, decisions and acceptance will sum up the concluding week of Doctor Cha.
Hopefully, Jeong-suk is not going to have a relapse in her medical condition since she’s on the brink of owning the life she deserves.
At this point, In-ho still holding on to Jeong-suk is probably the littlest gripe I would have for the story. His conviction to keep Jeong-suk and pay for what he’s done still asserts his self-centeredness.
But then, as Jeong-suk pointed out, his upbringing to not understand the concept of empathy fully has made him hurt a lot of people in the process.
There are small and significant triumphs this week like Jung-min’s decision to find what he really wants and solidify his relationship with Sora.
Seung-hee finally mustering her strength to focus on her daughter also poured her emotions out after reading a letter encouraging her how to find happiness by fully emancipating herself.
Be inspired to commit to personally made happiness like Cha Jeong Suk in Doctor Cha! International fans can watch it on Netflix!
