“That movie wasn’t for the theaters.”
Cotton Candy holds their fan signing event, greeting fans with full smiles. Stella freezes upon meeting a man asking for a handshake in the event. Stella meets the man at the rooftop, and it is revealed that he is a director from before, who has filmed a movie featuring Stella.
He justifies that the adult film is art, and recruits Stella to work with him again. His threats with what they have filmed from before shake up Stella.
“You need to be self-reliable! Have a dream and work for it!”
Jenna talks with Stella about the man she has met during the fan sign event. Stella cries up, thinking about how she still has difficulty in facing this past experience of hers. However, Jenna reassures her that they should face it together despite the pending risks with their public status.
Stella recalls her time when she was still in high school. Her mother and father, who are separated, focus more on their new families. Stella’s relationship with her mother is cold, and her mother has suggested to her to make use of her looks in earning money.
“I won’t blindly take your side just to cheer you up.”
After the fan sign event, Chae-ah is invited by Dan of Mars to feature in his song. However, Chae-ah instantly rejects the offer, which saddens Dan. Chae-ah is confronted by another member of Mars, which catches Elle’s attention.
Hearing about how Chae-ah feels small compared to others, Elle confronts her mindset, making Chae-ah cry. Troy catches on to Chae-ah, and tells her that he will listen to Dan’s song to assess his request to collaborate with Chae-ah.
“Once you find a piece, let that lead you to another clue.”
Gathering members of Cotton Candy, they all think of a solution to Stella’s problem. They cross out reporting to the police and asking for help from CEO Cha since their evidence is insufficient.
They all spend their time searching for details of the director, which could help them when they will talk to him. Jenna meets with the director, and informs him that Stella would not cooperate with the film he is proposing. Stella enters the scene, and the two members corner him, informing him that what he did was a crime, and his daughter aspires to become an idol.
“You don’t apologize for something you didn’t do wrong.”
Having a video call with his daughter who is together with other Cotton Candy members, the director apologizes to Stella. He comes to his senses as he sees his daughter, who is a fan of Cotton Candy, with Stella as her favorite. He pledges that there was no clip of Stella, and will no longer threaten her.
Cotton Candy members celebrate their commercial deal, and eat out together. Stella apologizes for causing trouble, but Elle tells her there is nothing to be sorry for. Their preparations for their music continue. Chae-ah participates in Dan’s song, and Cotton Candy completes recording their song.
IDOL: The Coup Episode 11 Musings
In this episode, the issue that troubles Stella has been revealed, and it is truly a matter that is heavy enough. With the fact that Stella is part of Cotton Candy, the burden becomes heavier as eyes are on their group, and she does not intend to harm the group image in any way, even though she is clearly a victim.
Stella shows hesitation in addressing the problem at first, and it is understandable since, in reality, a victim cannot quickly address it. However, she has mustered up her courage with the support of the members, and they solve the problem. Although the director has repented in the drama, in the real world, it would have been best if the judiciary also handled the matters.
For most members of Cotton Candy, their issues have been untangled one by one. Chae-ah has also broken the box she has been hiding in, and decided to participate in Dan’s request. We also get to see the brotherly bond of CEO Cha and Ji-han, which is entertaining to watch.
Cotton Candy has finished recording their song, and we shall get to see them on stage soon. Fans of the group face the dilemma of wishing them to reach number one, but at the same time hope that the group will not disband. Reporter Mo still has an image crucial to Cotton Candy, but viewers shall see whether such could still faze the group’s determination.
