IDOL: The Coup Episode 6 Key Moments

“It’s nothing we didn’t expect. The world wouldn’t be so easy on us.”

Jenna and Hyun-ji hear about how Bbiyong was dragging out the production of their group’s song. Bbiyong points out CEO Cha as the one who ordered it, and this angers Jenna and Hyun-ji. However, in truth, it was all Bbiyong’s plans which the CEO didn’t stop nor approve.

“Pick a stance and stick to it. Don’t confuse people.”

Ji-han visits CEO Cha’s office, and asks him whether he feels apologetic towards Jenna. The CEO replies to stay on one side as he remembers Ji-han feeling betrayed recently. Ji-han asks CEO Cha why he has chosen to stay silent even though it was all Bbiyong’s idea, and the CEO replies it was because he wanted Jenna to give up.

“With success, people get more generous.”

Cotton Candy members think about how they are going to find another producer. A suggestion comes up that Jenna shall produce the song, but they realize they need to have a producer that can catch the attention of people.

Jenna comes up with the idea of asking help from Troy, a producer they have been with even before they debuted. Troy gets shocked with Jenna’s proposal since he recalls how he was accused of plagiarism and referencing by Cotton Candy members.

Moreover, he also remembers how Jenna didn’t believe him and coldly let go of his hand even though he begged on his knees. Jenna tries to clarify how the plagiarism accusations were influenced by Bbiyong, and persuades Troy with Cotton Candy’s new video that will be uploaded in their channel.

“Watch what you say. Some words degrade even the listener.”

Ji-han proposes to CEO Cha a collaboration with Cotton Candy in exchange for his agreement to feature in Lune’s song. The recent video uploaded by Cotton Candy has garnered attention with the comment speculation of Bbiyong as the anonymous person being talked about in the video.

In the office of the CEO, Bbiyong gets angry hearing about the collaboration of Cotton Candy with Mars as risk management of the company. He insults Cotton Candy explicitly, but his words are called out by the CEO and Director Yoon.

Jenna enters the office, and questions whether this collaboration is another trick by the CEO. However, CEO Cha confirms that the collaboration was none of his plans. Jenna exits the office, and she tells Bbiyong that her group has no time to fight him since they’re preoccupied with the time left for them.

Meanwhile, Hyun-ji and Chae-ah realize it was none of them who left the speculating comment about Bbiyong. None of the members living in their dorm knows who commented that the person they were talking about was Bbiyong.

“The important thing is not just surviving! It’s how you survive!”

Cotton Candy and Mars prepare for their collaboration in the charity event. Hyun-ji and Chae-ah decide to render a dance duet, which was heavily opposed by Director Yoon.

Ji-han informs Jenna about how the agency has nothing to do with Bbiyong’s decisions to drag out their group’s song. Meanwhile, Assistant Manager Park informs Jenna about Elle meeting a potential investor for her solo. Jenna meets up with Elle to call her back to the group, and call out the decisions she makes to survive. Elle remains firm with her decisions, and pushes Jenna for telling her such things.

Hyun-ji gladly drops her duet with Chae-ah, and proposes that Ji-han and Jenna replace them. Director Yoon opposes the idea, but the majority of the members agree to it. Jenna receives a call from Troy, and hears his conditions, which involve Elle, for him to produce their song.

IDOL: The Coup Episode 6 Musings

At this point of the series, we could say that CEO Cha still has humanity in him seeing how he treated Bbiyong. He is still definitely uncompromising with business, but we also get to discover more of his other sides, as he looks out for Jenna who was crying outside the company building.

Stella has been taking medications for her mental health, and like Elle, we shall see how she deals with this silent battle of hers. Elle has been struggling in the recent episodes, and soon hopefully she will be convinced to come back to Cotton Candy.

Jenna was commendable with how she handled Bbiyong. She knows her priorities, and fighting with a producer like Bbiyong is not worth her energy. Viewers should look forward to how their deal with Troy would turn out.

The collaboration of Mars and Cotton Candy is another small victory for the group. They are truly seizing their group’s remaining contract period. One by one, Cotton Candy has been achieving small wins, and it’s great to see their progress compared to the earlier episodes.

For next week’s episodes, viewers can anticipate the collaboration of the two groups, and Troy’s deal with Cotton Candy. Moreover, we shall also see how Jenna will handle Elle and her struggles with her living conditions. Seeing the preview, the development of CEO Cha’s treatment with Jenna and her group shall also be expected.
