Lovestruck in the City evinces how Ji Chang Wook and Kim Ji Won in another longer drama – is definitely a great idea!
Gorgeously moving, Lovestruck in the City might just have paved a way for Korean creators to realize that quick servings of rom-com series that are delightfully pleasing is possible.
Adding to the hook factor of this digital series is its narrative structure. It smoothly switches from the clever interviews to the sweet chronicling of the love story.
Interestingly, Kim Ji Won is that actress who creates fascinating chemistry to her male lead easily. Just like how she is such an endearing sweetheart to Ji Chang Wook’s character right now.
On that note, just as Kim Min Seok has mastered the picture of cute shy boy we all want to dote on; his partner So Joo Yeon also projects her trademark likeable charm.

Lovestruck in the City Episode 2 Quick Recap
We begin this chapter with quite a clincher question. “How do you initiate sex?” And the six main leads act coy, unsure and nonchalant to the question raised.
Their conversation move to the moments accordingly done to set up an intimate moment. They also touch on the importance of kissing and mutual feeling to do the deed.
Finally, an awkward simulation was looked back on through the memory of the “first time” experience of lovers Kyung-joon and Rin-yi.
Meanwhile, attraction can’t be denied between Jae-won and Seon-ah. In the seven days of helping each other, their bond grows to a level of comfortability.
While Seon-ah coached him for the driving test, Jae-won also made her realized what she had been missing for not trying out surfing yet.
Absorbed in the world they seem to think their own in that one magical week, they end up sharing an intimate night together.
Lovestruck in the City Episode 2 Musings
If only we can allow the kissing frames in Lovestruck in the City to our regular dramas. I think the lip-lock scene in this episode is the longest and most realistic from what we’ve seen this year.
Thanks to Netflix, we get to see real intimacy and Ji Chang Wook’s legendary kissing master identity. *wink Thanks to Kim Ji Won, she represented well her enthused character equally matching that blazing moment.

We now learned why Eun-oh and Jae-won did not have a good parting, after sharing a memorable week and one ardent night of passion. If the series will follow the conventional trajectory, let’s hope the two patch up.
Eun-oh is like a mash-up of the girl in My Sassy Girl and 500 Days of Summer. Her unpredictability and zest enliven the story. And yes, she sure has a lot of explaining to do.
It is fun that they are aware of each other joining the interview project. Because their statements align to the lingering emotions they are trying to deny.
The love pairing of Kyung-jun and Rin-yi was also quickly highlighted setting the delightful tone of episode 2. While Sun-young and Kang Geon declare their witty relationship perspectives, we are yet to see a more prominent spotlight to them.
Sharing intimate moments was sassily discussed in the dialogue moments of the main characters. It later fuses and coordinate to the flow of Eun-oh and Jae-won’s whirlwind love tale.
Without us realizing it, the series smartly keeps our interest with how it is giving details, yet withholding the reasons of Jae-won and Eun-oh’s failed romance interlude.
It surely has plenty of direction to go, plus opportunities to explore the secondary characters.
Takeaway Quotes
“I haven’t had sex for over two years. But I’m still alive. It doesn’t kill you.”
– Kang Geon
“I love you. I thought I might have said it earlier. But I said it anyway. She didn’t say anything but smiled mysteriously. Back then, that was enough. I thought we had all the time in the world. And I was confident she’d love me back.
– Park Jae-won
