May I Help You Episode 7 Highlights

After an impromptu date they shared, Dong-joo and Tae-hee see a woman familiar to both of them. Dong-joo saw her last time rescuing an old man at a bridge while Tae-hee used to be in a relationship with her.

“Time doesn’t heal everything. Time may have passed by, and you’re still not going to be okay.”

Inside the house, Tae-hee catches up with his ex-lover, Chung-ha. He assures her that he’s still in the process of healing when she mentions he hasn’t gotten over blaming himself or her.

Chung-ha tells him that time can’t heal everything and respects his choice to deal with his pain on his own.

The next day, Dong-joo’s uncle priest, Michael, visits the place where she’s renting and finds Vincent who turns out to be attending service at the church he serves. Together with Tae-hee they eat lunch as Priest Michael pays attention to Tae-hee more.

Later, Tae-hee also asks Dong-ju to change the passcode to her room’s digital lock and they plan to proceed with the jjampong date that was postponed because of Chung-ha. However, the planned jjampong lunch gets a raincheck again because Chung-ha booked a lunch through a-dime-a-job.

Unfortunately, it was discovered by Dong-joo right after Tae-hee called her that they can’t meet. Tae-hee tells Chung-ha not to do the sudden lunch trap again and gets up when he sees the bowl of jjampong which usually lightens up his mood.

Meanwhile, So-ra, musters her strength and gives a nicely wrapped-in-pink-gift to Il-seob. She made him promise not to tell Dong-joo about it.

Dong-joo ends up eating lunch with Hae-an who attentively says nice words to her. Blabbing how he regrets not going on a movie date, their conversation gets halted when they see Tae-hee from afar with a high schooler named Chang-wan. The latter requests a job to get a cigarette pack. Hae-an mediates and brings him to the station where he answered a phone call with bad news.

Bringing Chang-wan to the funeral home, it turns out that he is the grandson of Dong-joo’s new client.

“What if I tell everything to the girl who understands and makes me want to depend on her? What if I want to lean on her? Then what will I do?”

Dong-joo’s next mission is to a grandmother whose adorable request to change her funeral portrait led her and Tae-hee to her old home to take a photo of her pretty picture.

Confessing she saw him with Chung-ha, Tae-hee realized why Dong-joo suddenly became cold and assures her that he was really working.

On their way back, unfortunately, they met a road accident so they are forced to stay the night at the deceased grandmother’s house.

Hurting her ankle, Dong-joo expertly works her way out to treat her injury. She also learns that Tae-hee used to be a doctor.

At night, she makes sure Tae-hee drinks medicine for his cold. While they both try to sleep, he wonders why she did not ask further about why he stopped being a doctor.

She replies understanding he could have reasons like how she also had those when she faced the same questions after quitting table tennis. Assuring him that he does not need him to reveal it to her, he responds that he won’t.

But, turning his back, he genuinely conveys his yearning of wanting to lean on someone.

Waking up the next day, Dong-joo looks for Tae-hee who apparently got up early to fix the vehicle. They head straight back to Seoul brightly chatting. She also casually mentions that he can lean on her.

Bringing a box of macaroons to a-dime-a-job office; Tae-hee welcomes Dong-joo. But then, Chung-ha arrives in an intense mood asking if Tae-hee wants him to kill a person.

May I Help You Episode 7 Musings

Tae-hee and Dong-joo are efficiently developing their connection coming from previous misunderstandings in their past. They communicate more and know how to read situations, especially those that need to be clarified.

This episode marks an emotional achievement for Tae-hee who has been nursing a broken heart caused by his brother’s death. His genuine talk with Dong-joo about his reservations and her response of willingness to be there for him suggests their connection would prosper more.

The featured send-off story for this episode as usual leaves a tug at viewers’ hearts. It especially hits home for grandchildren that were left to be cared for by their grandparents.

Meanwhile, So-ra is making a move to Il-seob. Hopefully, she’ll be successful so he can also learn to let go of his ex-lover who does not deserve his care.

A clearer picture of Tae-hee’s trauma is set to be unfurled now that the story crosses the middle mark soon. Hopefully, he continues to open up and accepts the emotional strength extended to him by people who are really concerned about him.
