Young-won’s heartening praises tamed Ja-sung’s dragon-like heart in the latest episodes of Monthly Magazine Home.
After an incident, Ja-sung quickly changed his attitude towards his employees. Young-won even obliges to commend his change. Because of that, he also seems under her spell which makes him wonder if he’s falling for her?

Monthly Magazine Home Episodes 5 and 6 Key Moments
“I’m sincere in being your partner.”
In the previous episode, The 1+1 partners, Gyeom and Young-won almost end their friendship. When Young-won learns the truth about his family status, she was disappointed about it but she forgives him and asks if they could talk about it.
Gyeom’s friend, photographer Jang, advised that it’s the perfect time to confess to her while explaining why Gyeom hid his family status to her. He thinks it’s not a bad idea but as far as he knows, she doesn’t want to be in a relationship for now.
When they meet up to talk about it. Young-won said she understands why he keeps that secret to her. She assumes that he does that because he wants to help her save. Gyeom didn’t take Jang-chan’s idea to confess instead he asks her if they can still be 1+1 partners after all of that and she said yes. He was happy to stay as her friend for now.
” A leader that motivates employees to work, compliments instantly.”
Ja-sung won an award. However, his employees are not happy about it. Their magazine has been labeled as ‘tabloid’ by competitors because of the ridiculous advertisements, Ja-sung puts in the magazine. On the day of the award ceremony, they meet their biggest competitor, Green House. They won almost every award and their CEO has a great relationship with them.
This saddens them, especially when Ja-sung gives his speech. In his speech, he only gives credits to himself and didn’t even mention his employees. After the ceremony, they meet Green House employees again and pushed them to their limit, which causes chaos in the elevator.
They decide to eat together without Ja-sung because they’re so mad at him. While eating and drinking they keep on throwing their complaints and tells Young-won to write it down to the special article dedicated to their CEO. She can’t even formulate thoughts for that article since no one said a single good thing about him that’s worth inspiration.
They don’t know that Ja-sung and the photography team eat in the same place and he can hear them badmouthing him. Out of rage, he walks out of the place. Soon, they discovered that he is there and he heard them backstabbing him. They’re scared to lose their job because of this.
The next day, something unexpected happens. Ja-sung isn’t angry and he even compliments them. They think that he said that because he wants to works hard out of fear and guilt and not because he meant it.
But Young-won saw the book that he’s reading to make him a better CEO for them. She realizes that those compliments are sincere. She sees that Ja-sung is strict, cold, and selfish on the outside because he needs those for him to be successful. Regardless, of this facade. he is still a person with feelings and he cares for other people too. He just doesn’t boast about his kindness that makes him humble.
After that realization, Young-won finished her article and sent it to him. He likes it but finds the last part unfitting because it looks like he was a good person. She explains that he is a good person. He was happy about that compliment that he even danced with joy.
“Compliments are only for those people who deserve it.”
Young-won tells others that Ja-sung’s compliments are sincere. Editor Go and Editor Ui-Joo talk about it secretly. They wonder why Ja-sung suddenly became like that towards them. However, he accidentally heard them. He promises that he would only compliment them when they deserve it.
After Young-won said those compliments to him. he seems under her spell. Whenever he saw her everything was in slow motion and all he can think about is her and her nice words for him. He started doing favors for her and he’s being nice and friendly towards her.
However, he discovers that Young-won is a ‘compliment machine’. She is very appreciative of everyone. He told her not to give appreciation too quickly. He seems disappointed by it and realizes that he lost his ‘naturally’ tough self because of those compliments he got from her.
“Not all men are the same, I’m going to approach slowly and show her that I’m different.”
Although, Gyeom knows that Young-won is not yet ready to be in a relationship with anyone. This doesn’t stop Gyeom to prove his worth to her. Little by little, he shows her that he can be the right man for her. Even Photographer Jang helped him but he finds out that Young-won isn’t into younger guys because of her experience with them.
Nevertheless, he did everything he can. Young-won notices that even though he was younger than her, he is mature. Because of this, He can see that he can stand a chance
for her.
“How can I not? , You make it hard not to. You make me care”
Young-won’s apartment leaked so she was forced to find a temporary place to stay. Editor Ui-Joo convinces Ja-sung to compensate for the damage. When Ja-sung gave money to her, she automatically wants to book a hotel.
However, Editor Ui-Joo has a better idea. She said that Young-won should stay at her place and save that money to buy a new bag because she continues using her old broken bag. But when they got to her place, Ui-Joo’s ex-boyfriend wanted to talk to her. Sensing, she should find another place to stay, she went back to her apartment.
Ja-sung left his cellphone there. When he came back to get it, he saw Young-won sleeping. He got the wrong idea that she only wants money and not because she needs it to find a temporary place. He accidentally picked up Young-won’s phone and discovers that she sent that money to her mother.
Because of this, he offers his place. At first, she was hesitant to accept it because she felt guilty when she used that money. But Ja-sung still cares for her. In the end, she sleeps on the same roof with him.
Monthly Magazine Home Episode 5 and 6 Musings
These episodes highlight a different side of Ja-sung’s character. In previous episodes, we can only see his selfishness and mean attitude. But now, we see that there is so much more than that. There was also a heartfelt scene when he visited the single mother who is supposed to be the feature story in their magazine.
He gives her advice and helps her to have worked so that they could find a better place. He also tells that mother’s son to grow up wise and healthy. We can’t wait to know more about him and his story.
Meanwhile, we can’t help but celebrate when the 1+1 partners came back together. We were sad when they almost split up in episode 4. Gyeom is so serious and focuses on proving his worth to Young-won in this episode. We can see that a lot of fans already root for a second-lead syndrome towards him.
Although these episodes have a lot of funny scenes and romantic scenes between Ja-sung and Young-won, the stories of other characters and how they struggle with problems are relatable to most of us.
Like Editor Sang-soon who seems to have a funny character but the truth is he faces so many challenges. Then Editor Ui-joo, who appears to be a strong and independent woman who helps everyone but, in reality, she needs someone to depend on too. Lastly, Chief Go works hard just to give his family a better life.
This drama keeps on getting better and better. We can see character development and relationship growth. We hope for more good things that are about to reveal in the next episodes.
