The Act of Running Away
Ever since Woong is a child, he has liked running away, even in small things. When he became a teenager he learned to run away from angry Yeon-Soo.
This time, Woong keeps ignoring and avoiding Yeon-Soo, but fate wants them to see each other often. She doesn’t like running away because for her it is a cowardly act but it seems that she learned to run away now.
Woong ditches the celebration party because he wants to avoid Yeon-Soo at all costs. He went to the library to borrow some books and saw her. He feels awkward but dares to ask her to eat with him.
Yeon-Soo follows Woong to eat and finds herself at Woong’s parents’ restaurant. His parents are happy to see Yeon-Soo again. Woong got the chance to ask how Yeon-Soo has been after their break-up.
She plainly answers that nothing special happened because she’s busy with her work. Woong got frustrated with her answer.
NJ’s Confession
After they separated, Woong goes to a playground eating ice cream. A little later, NJ calls him and they meet. She just came from an activity with her haters and she doesn’t feel good about what happened.
NJ confess her feeling to Woong and said that she likes him. Woong doesn’t know how to react because his mind is preoccupied with Yeon-Soo. Unknown to them, Yeon-Soo saw them and she feels uncomfortable.
Unexpected Trip
Ji-Woong plans a trip for the whole team including Yeon-Soo and Woong. However, the two are not aware of this plan. Spontaneous, they were taken and found themselves together once again.
During the whole trip, the two avoid each other and keep their distance. Yeon-Soo’s face change when she sees that NJ was calling Woong. He notices her emotions and knew that something is going on.
The Kiss Under the Rain
The next morning, the filming continues but after Yeon-Soo wakes up she finds no one in the house. However, when she checks Woong’s room she finds him sleeping peacefully.
She stares at him and clears the frown on his forehead. A little later, Woong grabs the hand of Yeon-Soo that keeps her shocked. When she leaves the room, she can’t help but overthink if Woong is already up.
The team is getting ready to film again but Chae-Ran ran out of batteries. Yeon-Soo went to stay somewhere and wait for her. She felt that this moment also happened before.

Later on, the cold rain starts pouring down and she was reminded of the time when Woong confessed to her during a rainy day. Holding an umbrella, Yeon-Soo saw Woong coming to her, and just like that, the two kisses under the rain.
Our Beloved Summer Episode 7 & 8 Musings
Just what I thought Our Beloved Summer just keeps getting better and better! I know that we all wait for the time when the two would be together again.
The ending scene was just perfect because it would give you a warm feeling. The setting and the memory behind it made their reunion kiss gratifying. It further affirms they still love each other.
On the other hand, I was quite sad for Ji-Woong because we all see that he has feelings for Yeon-Soo. However, Yeon-Soo’s heart is made for Woong.
It’s also the same for NJ, I like her character because she finds comfort when she’s with Woong and I believe we all deserve to have someone to run to. I just hope that until the end her character would not sway to a toxic level.
Moving forward, we hope the kiss would signal a second chance to a love that is really meant for Woong and Yeon-soo.
