Reborn Rich Episode 14 Highlights

Yoon-ki accompanies Lee Pil-ok on her way to flee the country, telling her that he now understands her as a parent. Hyeon-min informs Seong-jun of her pregnancy and firmly warns him not to mess up the future of her and the child she’s carrying.
At the general shareholders’ meeting of Soonyang Insurance, Do-jun loses to Lee Hang-jae as the CEO. Seong-jun’s scheme with Mr. Lee paints Do-jun as undeserving after deleting the footage of the last moments of the late chairman in the hospital.
Though voted as the CEO of the financial holding company, Mr. Lee gets threatened by Seong-jun of being exposed as an embezzler if he doesn’t step down. However, the financial holding company later falls through because of Chang-je.
Receiving what Mr. Lee sent, Do-jun understands the separate will left to him by Chairman Jin. He then tears up after being acknowledged as the chairman’s grandson.
“It’s only meaningful when we are united.”
Using the key he received, Do-jun sees the micro project, which he already encountered as Hyeon-woo. Although now it’s something the chairman left for him, Do-jun recalls how he reported it as money being siphoned overseas.
Intending to use public opinion to become an independent financial group, Dong-ki finds the perfect time to buy Soonyang Card, which Do-jun willingly sells. Watching how her father transacts, Ye-jun disagrees with how Dong-ki runs the company.
Riled up by Young-ki’s knowledge of his intention to buy Soonyang Card, Dong-ki negotiates with Do-jun. He then agrees to pay double the original price of 800 million dollars with 2% Soonyang Corporation shares as collateral. Adding to his conditions, Do-jun takes Dong-ki’s recommendation for a person knowledgeable about creating a slush fund.

While Young-ki and Dong-ki become disappointed for supporting the wrong presidential candidate, Chang-je feels excited about the offer of being appointed as minister of justice.
Credit card delinquency begins to rise, and Soonyang Card becomes at risk of delinquency, needing 400 million dollars to resume their cash advance services.
Young-ki hears about how Do-jun holds Soonyang corporation shares as collateral, so he attempts to retrieve them. For 1.6 billion dollars, Do-jun agrees on handing it.
Passingly talking about how their country is in a moral hazard, Do-jun recalls his past life when he felt frustrated and helpless after his father took out a private loan for his brother’s hospital bills.
Reborn Rich Episode 14 Musings
Even though Do-jun faces challenges after being reborn, it feels as if he can figure it all out in the end. Just like how Chairman Jin chose to leave him nothing, Do-jun can truly survive with his self-driven attitude.
Be it in his past life or current life, he understands well how poverty can be cruel to people struggling. Infusing again another remarkable period, this episode depicts and explains how society falls into credit delinquency.
For some, it’s easy to attribute it to greed when people fall into debt and work two jobs. However, Do-jun’s narration of his past enlightens viewers on the reality of the disparate life of inheriting wealth versus poverty.
Now that he is faced again with the micro project, which brought him danger as Hyeon-woo, Do-jun comes closer to understanding his death in his past life. Knowing it was undocumented in his past life tells a lot about how it was also kept secret by the chairman even in the past.
Next week’s finale episodes are definitely something to look forward to. Achieving a lot as Do-jun, we shall see the conclusion of his pursuit of truth and long-standing battle to acquire Soonyang.
