Kang-ho’s plan to claim justice for his father by fulfilling her mother’s dream of him becoming a prosecutor takes the spotlight in the 5th week of The Good Bad Mother.
As Young-soon is slowly running out of time, she seeks help from friends to find a suitable partner for her unwell son. Little did she know that the most suitable woman is within their reach.

The Good Bad Mother Episodes 9 and 10 Highlights
Young-soon and Kang-ho ask one of the neighbors who has a laptop to check the content of a memory card that Kang-ho sent her. Reading her son’s journal, Young-soon realized his struggles and goals as he navigated his life as an aspiring prosecutor.
When he finally achieved his mom’s dream, he spared no effort delving into his father’s case which he can’t touch previously. Because of that, no matter how much he loved Mi-joo, he also had to let her go because of a big fight ahead of him.
“I cannot fight against them with father’s case, as the statute of limitations already expired. Father’s case probably didn’t mean much to me from the beginning. What I really wanted to avenge was your life they utterly destroyed and the pain you felt living as a bad mother to your most beloved son.”
Questioning the detective in charge about an anomaly he found in the evidence, he learned that the evidence was tampered with by Oh Tae-soo. Proceeding with his plan of involving himself with the people who caused irreversible damage to his mother, he moved to become Chairman Song’s adopted son and Oh Tae-soo’s prospective son-in-law.
He also prepared Assemblyman Oh’s weak point by hiding a woman he impregnated out of wedlock who also knows a lot about Chairman Son’s company. His intention is to destroy everything that the two men responsible for his father’s death and her long-running pain built – their illustrious career, wealth, and position.
Learning about her son’s true situation, Young-soon burns all of Kang-ho’s things and reminds him that true revenge is forgetting everything even the reason for revenge.
But with her medical condition, Young-soon considered needing someone to be by Kang-ho’s side when she’s gone. Unfortunately, the blind date set up by the neighborhood elders is not successful.
“My twins and I will wait for him. Kang-ho will return once he’s done.”
Aware of his son’s fascination with Mi-joo, she allowed him to see her while they are in the town since he was dressed up handsomely for the blind date. His timing is perfect as he rescued Mi-joo from an old man harassing her.
When a motorcycle sweeps in, it reminds Kang-ho of the time when Mi-joo had a motorcycle accident and had to delay taking the college entrance test. He also remembers the harsh words his mom threw at him for choosing Mi-joo over the test.
On another blind date, the woman seems interested in Kang-ho and asked to meet him personally. Meanwhile, Sam-sik who is in need of money to pay for his debts learned about Kang-ho’s jewelry and tried to steal it from his friend.
Upset about Kang-ho for letting his friend take something away from her, Young-soon convinced her son to stop his dream of becoming a prosecutor. Keen on becoming a prosecutor again, he softly argues with his mom about all the struggles he did because he wants her to be happy. He questions why she couldn’t do it for him.
Young-soon meets Mi-joo to help her with Kang-ho who seems to listen to her a lot. Knowing something’s wrong with Young-soon, Mi-joo learns about her dying condition.
Returning to their house, Mi-joo ponders on her past and reveals she was pregnant when Kang-ho bid goodbye to her because of an important thing he has to do.
Confessing the truth to her mother, Mi-joo’s mom opposed the idea of her daughter taking care of someone unwell. But Mi-joo believes otherwise.
The Good Bad Mother Episodes 9 and 10 Musings
We’ve seen some of the clues connecting Kang-ho to the twins and we finally get the confirmation in the 10th episode of The Good Bad Mother.
Seeing Kang-ho’s growing up years, Mi-joo was well aware of his undertakings that’s why she braved a life without him and safely delivered their twins.
The question is would the birth secret be the answer to Young-soon’s pressing problem?
Also touched on in this week’s episode is how Kang-ho helped Chairman Song’s secretary who had an affair with Oh Tae-soo. But she is hinted to have died although without any sign of her baby.
Chairman Song and Assemblyman Oh are in a serious mind game and Kang-ho is a volatile variable once he regains his memories.
