Yu-rim’s special friend whom she met online is closer than what she has thought in Twenty Five Twenty One.
After becoming a reporter, Yi-jin brings himself to pay back to one of his dad’s creditors. Meanwhile, Hee-do and Yu-rim face their own problems stuck in their hearts after being kicked out of the training center.
With the stress and pressure surrounding her, Yu-rim suggests meeting up with her online friend, but does not expect to see Hee-do to be that very same virtual friend.

Twenty Five Twenty One Episode 8 Key Moments
“It can be difficult, but do your best to find happiness.”
After hearing the tape where a girl named Da-eun confessed to Yi-jin, Hee-do ponders and compares Yi-jin’s past relationships to the relationship she has been with.
She also becomes preoccupied searching for Da-eun in their school’s yearbook.
Meanwhile, Yi-jin visits the house of one of his father’s creditors and tries to pay him back with the salary he has saved up. Freeing Yi-jin from his burden, the creditor informs Yi-jin that his daughter was granted a scholarship.
Moving back to Seung-wan’s residence, Ji-woong and Seung-wan become burdened by the fact that they have to help their senior move in. Although not on good terms, Yu-rim and Hee-do also come to help Yi-jin move in.
“Right. You’re an adult. So to you, I’m still a kid.”
In one of Yi-jin’s books, a sticker picture of him and one of the girls he used to date is found, and Yu-rim shares that Da-eun is not the only Yi-jin dated.
Ji-woong and Hee-do play with an arm exerciser of Yi-jin, in which she accidentally releases and breaks the glass windows. Flustered by what happened, Yi-jin carries Hee-do to distance her from the shards of glass.
Seeing her daughter devoted to collecting stickers from a snack, Hee-do’s mother calls out her behavior during the press conference. Hee-do then retaliates at her own mother for reading lines that demoralizes her own daughter.
Coach Yang has handed Hee-do’s gold medal to her mother, and a flashback of what happened between them from before is shown. Shin Jae-kyung, as a reporter, chooses to tell the public that her friend received bribes.
Meanwhile, Yi-jin’s laptop malfunctions while he is reporting, which results in a broadcast accident, angering news anchor Shin Jae-kyung.
“When I’m with you, it feels like everything is going to be fine.”
Hearing that they were scammed, Yu-rim witnessed her mom and other people wailing in front of an empty shop.
At their disciplinary meeting, Yu-rim and Hee-do get suspended for three months. In the hallway after their meeting, Hee-do witnesses Yu-rim asking for an advance of her pension.
Hearing a sound from the swimming pool area, Hee-do sees Yu-rim jumping off a high board while crying, which confuses her feelings of hatred for Yu-rim.
Going home from school, Hee-do becomes cautious of Yi-jin after Coach Yang’s reminder on maintaining distance with reporter friends. Hee-do cries out to Yi-jin for pranking her, and emphasizes how he must have seen her as a child.
“The less you know about the person, the deeper the conversation gets.”
Ji-woong passes by the closed snack place owned by Yu-rim’s family, and Yu-rim opens up to him about how difficult things are for her at present. She thanks Ji-woong for making things somehow light for her.
Suggesting to meet up with her online friend, Yu-rim prepares and stops by Yi-jin’s. Worried about Yu-rim meeting a random stranger, Yi-jin comes along with her.
Excited to meet the friend she has relied on for a very long time, Yu-rim waits while holding a yellow rose.
She sees Hee-do from afar with a yellow rose also, and realizes that Hee-do is the special friend that she treasured for a long time.
Unprepared to meet Hee-do, Yu-rim passes on her yellow rose to Yi-jin and leaves. Hee-do then sees Yi-jin, thinking he is the one whom she also relied on and configures her feelings for him.
Twenty Five Twenty One Episode 8 Musings
Progressing towards a positive note, Yi-jin is finally freed from his burden, and is given the permission to be happy. In this episode, we could see notable scenes that show the tension buildup between him and Hee-do.
Hee-do, who is nearing her twenties, still feels like a child, and compares herself to Yi-jin who is now a full-functioning adult. Although there is nothing clear yet, they may soon become aware of their feelings.
For Yu-rim, she has been experiencing pressure from people as a gold medalist star athlete. Like what Yi-jin has told her, life may go on a way you do not expect.
Although it may be rocky at the beginning or at some parts, there will also come a time when things will feel light. Same as Hee-do who is having troubles with her news anchor mother, and confusion with her relationship with Yi-jin.
Finding comfort from a stranger online, Hee-do and Yu-rim probably did not expect each other. Seeing that Hee-do mistakes Yi-jin to be that friend, we could look forward to next week’s episodes on how she would handle her confused feelings for Yi-jin and realize the fact that Yu-rim is actually the “friend” she has relied on.
