Behind Your Touch Finale Week Recap *Spoiler Alert
Devastated about Seon-woo’s death, Ye-bun refuses to speak with Jang-yeol. But he was able to tell her about his belated realization that the blackout clue pertains to sunglasses on her way to Shaman MacArthur’s place to bring shoes for Seon-woo.
Seeing the Shaman wearing sunglasses, Ye-bun touches his bum and sees the evil past he has been hiding. Knowing he has the upper hand, he lets Ye-bun live and warns her not to do anything dangerous.
The next day, she pretends indifferent towards Seon-woo but secretly passes the message of her discovery about the Shaman MacArthur. Through Ye-bun’s tip that Seon-woo was able to secure evidence of the shaman killing him through his phone, Jang-yeol sneaked in to retrieve it and was able to arrest him.
However, the clever shaman had already made a contingency plan. He abducted Ok-hee and struck a bargain with Ye-bun in exchange for her life. Ye-bun meddles when the shaman is about to be escorted to the prison.
Unknown to Jang-yeol, he also contacted the gangster boss for help in exchange for Jang-yeol’s head. The gang beat Jang-yeol while holding Ye-bun on captive. Through her power, she is able to go to where Jang-yeol is from the tip she gathered from his past memories and sets to rescue him.
Fortunately, Jang-yeol retrieved his strength and singlehandedly beat the gang members. Tracking Shaman MacArthur, Ye-bun’s psychometric abilities work overtime. But they were outsmarted yet again. Thankfully, through their teamwork, they were able to subdue the still proud and remorseless villain.
Ultimately, solving the case led Jang-yeol to go back to Seoul. With her power, Ok-hee finds a way to maximize it by making her guest in TV programs that would showcase her ability.
Her “special connection” with Jang-yeol continues and to make him not too busy with work, she volunteers and belatedly knows that it’s a cute trap, nonetheless another cute adventure for both of them.
Behind Your Touch Quick Series Recap
Sent to the peaceful town of Mujin, Detective Moon Jang-yeol needs a case that would bring him back to where an elite and passionate police officer like him should be. Unfortunately, his new town assignment is crime-free.
In a freak coincidence, cryptic murders start happening in Mujin and he finds an ally in Bong Ye-bun who acquired psychometric abilities during a meteor shower. Reluctantly, she joins his investigation. However, the serial killings get even more complicated when the suspects they have in mind also get murdered.
Behind Your Touch Series Highlights
Interesting Characters
From start to finish, Behind Your Touch consistently engrosses with interesting characters in the vibrant town of Mujin. It’s interesting to note that there is a lot going on individually, in this big-cast series, and yet it is easy to follow the narrative’s full picture.
While the lead trio is amazing in their roles, the strong support from the rest of the cast members helped the vibrancy of the story. Every member has their own moments even Ye-bun’s grandpa who barely made long lines in the series.
Ok-hee’s brother whose translations for non-Mujin natives like Jang-yeol gifted viewers cracking up moments; as well as the female detective who struggles to crack her husband’s womanizing – effectively present the concept of scene stealers.
But of course, we can’t forget Ok-hee’s gang who is at Ok-hee’s beck and call whenever she needs to help her bestie Ye-bun and our favorite part-timer who made us cry with his sacrifice. We won’t forget the Twenty Five Twenty One parodies of Jong-muk and Hyun-ok. Likewise, the versatile and smart portrayal of Shaman MacArthur completes the perfect supporting cast in the series.
Lastly, we also love how Ye-bun and Jang-yeol connect to a meaningful level by providing comfort and encouragement. Especially on Jang-yeol’s side who seems to be fitting in well to the small town he hated before.
Amusing combination of comical moments and intrigue
A special mix of humor and thrill was achieved by Behind Your Touch propelling its hooking energy. To be honest, it was a brand-new formula, something that can easily go awry for a 16-episode run.
But the meticulous writing that knows when to insert surprising developments led viewers to how the writer wanted all of us to be. That is to suspect everyone up until the very end.
The lively storytelling that incorporates all the characters is also sprinkled with an ample amount of amusement that can make a picky viewer baffled to realize how he was reeled to root for the characters.
Notably, the series smartly explored issues of redevelopment, animal cruelty and the plight of immigrant workers. Interestingly, following the light tone of the series, the storytelling stayed consistent in making the sad situations not too deplorable.
Behind Your Touch Series Musings
Cleverly playing with our smarts, Behind Your Touch navigated the thrilling guess-the-killer game with humor and flair. Rightfully on time, as the series winds down to its last three weeks, the intentions and motivations of the characters are being relayed one by one.
A couple of endearing side love stories added hilarious moments to the narrative which made it more interesting. That being said, the absence of concrete romance for the heroine is not felt as Behind Your Touch found the right balance of comedy layered with sweet frostings to keep the narrative engrossing.
We loved those times when Ye-bun was like all other girls in front of their secret crushes with Seon-woo. At the same time, we love how her investigation adventures with Jang-yeol progressed to a deeper connection when their foundation is mostly bickering with each other.
Small-town dramas have become a staple as rom-coms in K-Drama landscape these days, thanks to a few successful ones in recent years. Behind Your Touch joins this list by successfully maximizing the potential of a relatively simple plot by balancing comedy and jollies.
