After clearing controversies, Kim Seon Ho is back on track in acting and officially debuts on the big screen for Sad Tropics.
Following Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, Kim Seon Ho planned to start shooting in November for Sad Tropics. However, a dispute about his ex-girlfriend spread on social media, making Kim Seon Ho’s upcoming projects canceled.
Kim Seon Ho’s agency, SALT Entertainment, shared a statement that he will appear on Sad Tropical and do his best to repay this opportunity. The distributor of the film, NEW, also announced, “After consideration, the production team of Sad Tropics decided to proceed shooting with actor Kim Seon Ho within the year.”
Aside from Sad Tropics, Kim Seon Ho is in line to star in Dog Days and 2 O’Clock Date before the controversy. Nevertheless, the team of Sad Tropical trusts the actor despite the setback he experienced.
Led by Director and Screenwriter Park Hoon Jung, he will craft a film that is different from his usual works. Moreover, he is known for his thriller and action genre, specifically The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion and The New World.
Sad Tropics narrates the story of a boy who dreams of pursuing to be a boxer. His father is Korean, while his mother is Filipino. He then searches for his father, who abandoned him, facing bad guys on his journey.
Kim Seon Ho is known for his portrayal in Start-Up, where he won an award at the Seoul Drama Awards 2021. Recently, his portrayal in Hometown Cha Cha Cha was also lauded.
Pairing up with him is actress Go Ah Ra (Hwarang, Miss Hammurabi, and Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol) who started her acting career in 2003. Sad Tropical will also be the Go’s big-screen return after five years.
Sad Tropics aims to start filming before the year ends.
