Covering a variety of crimes, the series does not only focus on how cool its comedic heroes are fighting injustice. Their wounds from the past are also put into light.

Bad and Crazy Finale Key Moments
Su Yeol’s Escape from the Ward
Su Yeol escapes from the psych ward, and runs to the office of his old psychiatrist Dr. Yeom. As he is still considered a criminal, he flees from the office and discusses with his team how to catch Shin Ju Hyeok.
Agreeing to find the link of the man who died together with Andrei, they discover that the man was a patient of Dr. Yeom. Positive that they are close to catching Shin Ju Hyeok, Su Yeol finds the doctor bleeding on the floor.
Hui Gyeom receives a call from Dong Yeol, and passes it on to Su Yeol, hearing about their mother’s state. Arriving at their house, Su Yeol calms down their mother.
Bidding Farewell to K
Meeting in the house he ran away from in his childhood, Su Yeol tries to save himself and Jeong Hun from the burning house. With his remaining strength, he fights Shin Ju Hyeok. He ends up in the hallway of his subconscious, and bids farewell to K, who clarifies his full name is King.
Waking up, Su Yeol’s colleagues wonder why he was laughing and crying while asleep. Meanwhile, in the courthouse, Boss Yong attacks Shin Ju Hyeok in the comfort room. Although he is given the chance to regain his position, Su Yeol chooses to claim K was real. However, after a year, Su Yeol comes back to catch corrupt officials, and throws a flying kick at their commissioner.
Bad and Crazy Quick Plot Recap
Ryu Su Yeol (Lee Dong Wook) values his chances for a promotion more than serving justice under the anti-corruption unit in the police force. A mysterious man suddenly comes out of nowhere to beat him up and introduces himself as K (Wi Ha Joon).
In situations and cases he usually would turn a blind eye on, K pushes Su Yeol to save people and fight injustice. Annoyed with K’s drive, Su Yeol attempts to ask help from a doctor, but also comes to adjust to living with K.
With the crimes they encounter, Su Yeol remembers his traumatic childhood. The connection among the crimes he has covered leads him to uncover his trauma, and meet again Jeong Yun Ho who now goes by Shin Ju Hyeok (Jung Sung Il), the real murderer of his father.

Interconnection among Covered Crimes
As the series progressed, the plot spiraled in the direction that leads Su Yeol and K to discover about his childhood.
Starting with a case about a missing woman, who is a mother to a child, the series points to politician Do Yu Gon as the murderer. Do Yu Gon has connections with drug dealers, and this is investigated by the police force.
However, they discover that there is corruption inside the narcotics unit, which leads to the hunt of its captain, Kim Gye Shik.
Catching Captain Kim, the plot then turns to a teenager who had access to the drug “The Eye”. Baek Young Joo, under the influence of drugs, kills her abusive father. Another case opens as Jeong Hun appears to have agreed to a deal with So Yeon to commit murder for each other. Arriving at the two latter cases, Su Yeol faces his traumatic childhood, and also resolves his inner conflicts.
Synergy and Bromance with an Alter Ego
For most Korean dramas that feature split personalities, the main character who has the disorder plays all the split personalities. However, Bad and Crazy starred two different actors to portray the main host and the alter ego.
In that decision, the series has been filled with comedic bromance scenes. The gravity of the crimes and traumas they are tackling are still there, but Su Yeol and K’s collaboration is able to add elements that make it light and entertaining to watch.
Healing from the Traumatic Past
Along with the crimes that have been tackled, the series has also highlighted the value of healing from the wounds as a survivor of abuse. Su Yeol’s character together with other characters like Young Joo and Jeong Hun have represented people which various agencies should be keen on protecting.
Bad and Crazy Series Musings
For the finale, I was speculating on how they were going to catch Shin Ju Hyeok. As he is a therapist who is also well versed in gaslighting techniques, it would be difficult to catch him.
Given all that, finding crucial evidence that he stole identities was a fair way to catch him since untangling a twisted character like him would be also difficult, even in real life.
For people who are drawn into the action, crime, and comedy, the series would be enjoyable to watch as it features cases that are possibly present today and in the future. It was fascinating to witness all the crimes covered in this series and notice it has all connections with each other. Such can be observed in the real world, where corruption and narcotics go hand in hand.
The bond of the anti-corruption unit is adorable, together with the characters of Lee Dong Wook and Wi Ha Joon’s bickering relationship. Considering K who is an alter ego, bidding farewell was necessary, but it was done warmly and satisfyingly.
Seeing how the series transpired, we could say that heroes like K and the rest of the police force have bad days too. They, too, despite their heroic image, also get hurt and have experiences that they are healing from.
