Su Yeol gives his all into Hui Gyeom’s case, and he finds out about the corruption inside the narcotics unit. Captain Kim Gye Sik of the unit strikes a deal with the drug ring, and shoots a member from his team.

Su Yeol’s Dedication in Hui Gyeom’s Case
Hui Gyeom tells Su Yeol she’d rather be questioned by the HQ than him, but he insists that she should just follow his lead. He and K investigate further on the eyewitness of the incident. They notice the wristband the eyewitness in the picture has, and visit the club to ask for the list of its goers.
They track down the men in the list, and find the eyewitness. However, the eyewitness claims he did not see anything, and claims that he only heard the ambulance. Meanwhile, Hui Gyeom asks Su Yeol about his motives for being dedicated in her case, and he denies that he has a split personality or is nearly dying.
The Beginning of Su Yeol’s Treatment
Su Yeol rushes to the doctor he frequents to start his treatment. He gets into an argument with K, and K walks out as they sit to start the treatment that touches on his childhood.
Sitting down to be hypnotized again, Su Yeol sees a hallway with doors that shows a certain part of his past. When he encounters the door that opens to a time where a child is being chased, he wakes up. The doctor then asks whether he had amnesia when he was a child.
Hui Gyeom Being Framed for Drugs
O Gyeong Tae surprises Su Yeol with his transfer to the anti-corruption unit. Meanwhile, Su Yeol rushes to Hui Gyeom as her house gets reported for a theft incident, and the police find drugs with money in a briefcase. Hui Gyeom denies that the drugs found are hers, and claims that surely it was planted in her house.
Captain Kim gets angry at Heo Jong Gu for acting rashly in planting drugs in Hui Gyeom’s house. The detective claims he did that to make things easier as he is being tailed by Su Yeol’s team. The captain then orders Jeong Il Su to sell off the drugs they have seized first.
Captain Kim’s Corruption Inside the Narcotics Unit
Su Yeol expresses his suspicions to Captain Kim in the narcotics unit, and he also finally hears more details from the eyewitness. Together with O Gyeong Tae and Jae Seon, they discover the ambulance used by the perpetrators of the incident.
Meanwhile, Captain Kim meets with Boss Yong as Andrei catches Il Su for selling their drugs. He strikes a deal with the drug ring, and he also manages to control Su Yeol’s findings in the investigation. Su Yeol witnesses the captain shooting Jong Gu, but wraps the case as to how the captain has ordered him, which angers K.
Su Yeol revisits Tak Min Su’s death, realizing the captain’s role in the events, and pairs up with K in handling this investigation.
Bad and Crazy Episode 5 Musings
Su Yeol finally chooses to undergo treatment, and we get to see bits of his past through the doors. Possibly, the door numbers may stand for significant dates of the events behind the doors.
Along with that, we continue to see K investigate together with Su Yeol. Although K may have reacted negatively with Su Yeol’s choice to undergo treatment, he still agrees to pair up in investigating Captain Kim.
Contrary to how some might have expected, the problem was actually inside the narcotics unit beside the existing drug ring. The leaders have been running the business illegally, and they will be supported by the narcotics unit who is supposed to be catching them.
The events presented so far somehow represent a reality faced by police forces with regards to drugs, and like Su Yeol there would be people who are controlled to wrap up a case in a way that pleases them. Moreover, there are colleagues like Hui Gyeom who are tied to criminal cases which made them a scapegoat for the unit’s corruption.
For the next episodes, viewers shall dig more about Captain Kim and his doings inside the narcotics unit. We shall also expect to see more of Su Yeol’s past as he has started to begin treatment.
