Finding similarities with Baek Young Joo’s case, Su Yeol gradually sees memories from his childhood in Bad and Crazy.
The daughter of a fired cop, Baek Young Joo, murders her father but surrenders herself to the police. Although it was confirmed that drugs were found in her body, Su Yeol’s team searches for someone who gaslighted her. In that case, Su Yeol becomes suspicious of therapist Sin Ju Hyeok who seems to know about his childhood.

Baek Young Joo Murdering Her Abusive Father
Wearing a yellow raincoat with bloodstains, Baek Young Joo arrives at the police station announcing she killed her father. In Hui Gyeom’s interrogation with her, it has been found that she has been under the influence of The Eye drug.
As Su Yeol feels some regrets about how he handled her father’s case, Su Yeol refers her to the lawyer he and Hui Gyeom know. While talking to the lawyer, Young Joo appears to be mentally disturbed, so she is brought to the hospital.
Digging around her history, Su Yeol finds that Young Joo was bullied and was referred to the same therapist he is seeing at present.
Sin Ju Hyeok Probing on Su Yeol’s Childhood
With the video retrieved, Su Yeol’s team thinks about the possibility that Young Joo has a gaslighter and she was being controlled to murder her father. With that, Su Yeol suspects therapist Sin Ju Hyeok as he met Young Joo on the day of the murder.
However, Sin Ju Hyeok denies him being the gaslighter of Young Joo, and presents his evidence that he was not the one who controlled Young Joo.
Sin Ju Hyeok asks Su Yeol whether his dedication to this case is related to his childhood. With that question, Su Yeol suspects the therapist more.
Su Yeol’s Mom Having Alzheimer’s Disease
Curious about his childhood, Su Yeol asks his mom and brother. His brother reveals how he saw him in a hallway, and recalls the time their mom bathed Su Yeol. His brother confirms his name used to be Jae Hui.
Digging more about it, Su Yeol visits his old house, and sees his younger self. He tries to chase him, and he enters the hallway in his subconscious. K tries to stop him from opening the door at the end of the hallway, but as he opens it, he comes back to reality.
Su Yeol’s brother visits their mom’s shop, and sees that it has been sold. He barges into the realty office, and sees her gambling. Angrily asking what their mom’s reason was, she reveals that she no longer wants to burden Su Yeol, so she paid the repair cost of the pizza shop, and confesses she has Alzheimer’s disease.
Young Joo’s Escape from the Hospital
With the recent suicide attempt of Young Joo in the hospital, Su Yeol asks Young Joo about her awareness of what she did, and who is controlling her. However, Young Joo tells him that the person helped her open her eyes.
Young Joo escapes the hospital, and Su Yeol calls Sin Ju Hyeok who also wishes to speak with him at that moment. Sin Ju Hyeok suggests to Su Yeol about the possibility of Young Joo’s case being a game, which confuses Su Yeol.
While on call, Young Joo arrives at the therapist’s office, and stabs him. Hearing all those in the call, Su Yeol rushes to his office and finds a clue addressed to his old house. Coming to his old house, he witnesses Young Joo stabbing herself.
Sin Ju Hyeok recovers from what happened, and Su Yeol begins to warm up with the therapist. Accessing Young Joo’s dark web account, the person he is chatting with appears to know his old name, Jae Hui.
Bad and Crazy Episode 8 Musings
As K appears frequently in the hallway of Su Yeol’s subconscious, we can say that he is not only a fighter of justice, but an essential existence protecting Su Yeol from his traumatic memories in childhood.
When they investigated the school history of Young Joo, K’s way of interrogating Young Joo’s former classmates was creative. It was a good way to make them speak up about Young Joo.
With the scenes given so far, there is a possibility that Su Yeol is connected with his father’s death. Also, the numbers on the doors in the hallway are confirmed to be significant dates, with Young Joo stabbing herself after hearing it is October 2.
From the previous episode, therapist Sin Ju Hyeok appears to be suspicious. Even in this episode as he gets stabbed, there are still doubts about his character. Seeing how he works in the shelter, and probes on Su Yeol’s childhood outside their counseling time.
In the next episodes, viewers can expect to become more certain about Su Yeol’s childhood. Although K tries to hide it from him, soon, he will come to remember memories from his childhood, relating to his father.
