It sure is easy to find more differences than similarities when you engage in a romance with almost zero courtship.
That reality is underlined in the 6th episode of Forecasting Love and Weather. Opening possible problems to tackle in the succeeding episodes, this particular chapter touches on different kinds of workplace romance stories that we may know or not know about.

Forecasting Love and Weather Episode 6 Key Moments
Settling their indifferences over liquor of battles, Ha-kyung gets a peek at the troubled situation of Senior Forecaster Eom which is contributing to his poor performance at work.
Unable to get an address where she can send her senior, she brings him to a nearby motel where they met Si-woo who was also there to meet his father.
“Past wounds are nasty. You think you’re all better now. But when you look back, they’re still infected. The deeper your memories of those wounds are, the more cowardly you become.”
Both perplexed meeting at a motel, they opt not to clear the events that brought them there. As past pains of their respective breakups are still fresh, they keep their apprehensions inwardly.
Changing to a night shift, Ha-kyung called Si-woo before their work starts to talk. She proposes reconsidering their relationship as she thinks they still cannot trust each other fully.
Opening up about who he met at the motel, he reveals meeting his father. Unknown to them, Si-woo’s father saw them talking that night and deduce they are in an intimate relationship.
To make the matter worse for Si-woo, his father even meet Ha-kyung as a guest visitor at work to borrow some money.
Meanwhile, Ha-kyung rushes to the hospital because of her mother. Previously, she left their home because of her mother’s meddling in signing her up for a marriage arrangement agency.
“Can you promise me something? If you happen to not love me anymore, let me be the first to know. If you become swayed, I want to be the first one to know. Of course, my heart will break, but what’s more heartbreaking is if I’m kept in the dark.”
The next day, Si-woo goes to meet his father to hand over the last money he can give him. His father thought Ha-kyung influenced him that’s why he gave his money.
Enraged about his father’s audacity, Si-woo goes to see Ha-kyung to apologize. Understanding his feeling, she invites him for breakfast.
She shares how her father took his life when his business went under, abandoning his family in the process. Her faint consoling words give Si-woo a realization that she does not look down on him for having a lousy father.
She genuinely asks him to let her know first if he will have a change of heart and if he does not love her anymore. Amazed at how beautiful Ha-kyung is right at that moment, he also hears her say to live with her together.
While Si-woo processes Ha-kyung’s proposal, his ex-girlfriend meets her new husband Ki-jun to push back the marriage registration.
Forecasting Love and Weather Episode 6 Musings
Giving a balanced perspective on “rushed relationships”, Forecasting Love and Weather emphasized how a romantic relationship needs a decent time to settle in.
Ki-jun and Yu-jin reached the marriage point because of their affair, thus their connection is deemed unstable. It reflects on how they grope on how they can communicate their grievances.
Likewise, Ha-kyung and Si-woo also embark on a discreet relationship without enough time to at least introduce problems that would remain constant in their respective lives.
Notably, this unstable relationship is the exact opposite of how Myung-ju and her husband have communicated their woes and be mutually involved with it. Their relationship also gives a scenario of a workplace romance that Ha-kyung and Si-woo can learn from.
“Rain needs another rain for it to get drenched.”
People who learned heartbreaking lessons from their previous relationships are usually more guarded about their emotions. They tend to overanalyze situations, at the same time, be cautious of committing the same actions that caused their failed relationships.
Ha-kyung is the perfect example of this idea, but it’s nice that early on in the story, her sensitivity is giving her ways to improve her workplace, family and love relationships. I’m actually surprised how magnanimous she was to still help her ex-boyfriend with a work task he cannot complete.
More importantly, she epitomizes the word “girl crush” when she gave Si-woo subtle reassurance of how he has nothing to be ashamed of having a pathetic father. Hopefully, we get to know how Ha-kyung responded to Si-woo’s father when he asked her for money.
We have two hanging questions to look forward to in the next episodes. If Si-woo will agree to live together and if Ki-jun will relent to Yu-jin’s request.
