One Dollar Lawyer Episodes 6 and 7 Highlights

Lawyer Cheon Ji-hun impresses Baek Ma-ri with how he solved the case involving a son who has been the ghost painter of his father. She visits Prosecutor Na and she unfurls Ji-hun’s life as a prosecutor.

“Making a choice is hard for anyone. No matter how hard it is, others can’t make that choice for you.”

Five years ago, Ji-hun bravely indicts Choi Ki-tae, a CEO of a big conglomerate company. Going against the deputy chief prosecutor of the central office, Ji-hun found a way to make him pay for his wrongdoings.

At that trial, he faced Lawyer Lee Joo-young (cameo by Lee Chung Ah) from Baek Law Firm. Ji-hun ingeniously saved an innocent worker forced by CEO Choi to take the full blame. He talked him out of committing suicide and served the punishment to the CEO who deserved it.

The case with CEO Choi has had Ji-hun work on finding where the slush fund went to. Unfortunately, it led him to his father who was then running as Prime Minister in the country.

Ji-hun tips his father that the friends he gave him portions of the embezzled money will leave him alone, inevitably. After the investigation, he got a call from his father’s secretary checking if the probing is already done.

Helping the secretary to look for his father, right before his very eyes, he sees him fall on top of a car from the building’s rooftop.

One Dollar Lawyer Episodes 6 and 7 Musings

As viewers might have noticed, One Dollar Lawyer follows a clear and simple narration. Yet, it’s amazing how it ropes in viewers to tune in to the cases presented and the remarkably portrayed characters.

The 6th and 7th episodes of the series acquaint viewers with Ji-hun’s fortunate but not entirely happy life as a prosecutor. We can see his recluse personality stems from growing up without his father’s presence. Most likely, he is an illegitimate child. Nevertheless, he has maintained a close relationship with his father showing a good upbringing.

Confronted by his duty and personal convictions learned from his father; it was truly a disheartening moment to see Ji-hun in a dilemma of prosecuting his father. Imagining his nightmare after seeing his father’s lifeless body, it’s expected that he would blame himself for opening a snake pit that bit only his father.

With that phone call, he got from a mysterious person, his relentless pursuit to find out the people involved in the slush fund begins.

It’s just a little gripe, but the continuity of the story might not appeal if you are used to weekly resolution. You have to bear with the story arc closures.

Ergo, hopefully, this flashback from Ji-hun’s prosecutor days would close in the next episode. More about his connection with Joo-young will unravel in the story as well.

In the past episodes, he has been dropping cryptic notes about his eccentricity. Thus, we can look forward to how he transformed from stoic to lively and the answer to Ma-ri’s question of why he can’t pay rent but dons lavish clothing.

Along with that, we are curious if he was able to resolve his father’s case or if he is in the process of completing it as a lawyer.
