Lin Wo and Gao Shan gamble to fortify their career positions in episodes 13 to 16 of You Complete Me!
Preparing the ingredients for his revenge plan, Gao Shan pocketed his all-important bargaining chip. However, he can’t deny how his feelings are giving questioning moments of whether his end game is worth it.

“With or without Nana, I wouldn’t be with her.”
Arriving at Lin Wo’s place, Gao Shan assures her that nothing has worked on and will work on with Nana even without meeting her. So she does not have to feel pressured about it.
Unknown to them, Nana needs the exact opposite result to overturn her position at work.
Needing to meet a key person of the company to be acquired, the four friends battle it out to secure the edge. Lin Wo also wins a stuffed doll for herself because Gao Shan can’t manage to hit the right bullets.
However, both camps are rejected putting Gao Shan and Lin Wo on a dire situation because of the deal they set on with Qin Shengsheng.
Nana apologizes to Lin Wo for choosing what’s best for her career and clears that she chose not to talk to her not because of Gao Shan. She also tells giving up on Gao Shan, as she finally agrees that they are really cut from the same cloth.
“Although I like money and rich people. I don’t like you.”
Su Yuan sees Nana at a hotel where he was flirting with a girl and follows when she sees her with a client.
Engaging to another bickering bout she declares not going to like someone like him.
Back at the hotel, Gao Shan goes to Lin Wo’s room to bring her food and also work on the clues about what happened to his father’s business 10 years ago.
When the faucet in Lin Wo’s room leaked, the two struggle to stop the water from flowing. When they finally did, Gao Shan who were sneaking on Lin Wo’s files divert her attention by pinning her down. She immediately retaliates by going over him and reminding him to give her time.
However, her hair got stuck on his shirt’s button and that’s the scene that Su Yuan and the hotel staff witness.
“Don’ be mad. I won’t do it again.”
Discovering something odd in the claimed model couple of Yijia company, Lin Wo rushes to Gao Shan’s room to discuss it. Both sleep deprived, she tells Gao Shan not to be pressured and share his woes since they are in one team.
Su Yuan, who knows all the society connections, secures passes for them to be at the press conference of Yijia company. Su Meihe and Kang Ming are both present.
Bumping on a dubious looking waiter, Lin Wo follows her not knowing that it will lead to a set-up that will ruin Su Meihe’s reputation and position on the board of directors. Arriving at the conclusion that it is Kang Ming’s ploy, the situation does not favor Lin Wo.
After treating Lin Wo’s small wound, Gao Shan did not hide feeling frustrated on her recklessness. She tries to coax her, but he responds not angry at her but on himself. Another bad news approach as Zheng Wanying arrives declaring Lin Wo is relieved of the project. But Gao Shan reasons that she cannot take over since the project is not yet over.
Gao Shan learns from Siyang some key information about Yijia’s M&A. He explains to Su Yuan how everything is a cover-up to divert attention and get more time for Dalong and Kang Ming to acquire shares to defeat Su Meihe.
The news of Dalong and Most Sky’s premeditated plan will definitely hurt Lin Wo who made a useless deal when everything has been set in motion by her father and Wanying.
“Why didn’t you answer my call? Don’t you know I’m worried about you?”
Deciding to make Lin Wo aware of the painful truth, they go to her room, but finds it vacant. Gao Shan hurries to look for her and finds her drunk at the poolside.
Too intoxicated, Lin Wo rants all the confusion Gao Shan gives to her. She even kissed him leisurely and push him to the waters.
Finding a nearby sofa, she lied down to sleep while Gao Shan is left amused of the moment. He carries her to his room and let her nap on the bed so he can wash up.
Barely awake, Lin Wo looks for water and goes to the shower room. Finding Gao Shan there, she finally sobered up. She confesses missing her mom that’s why she got drunk. She woke up alone without him so all the emotional upheavals burst that’s why she sought alcohol.
“Those who speak easily of forgiveness easily don’t understand what hatred is.”
Finally confessing the basis of her animosity towards Wanying and her father, she vowed not forgiving them in her lifetime. Gao Shan replies how people who speaks easily of forgiveness have not gone through the real hatred.
Lin Wo asks if his father also died of illness and Gao Shan honestly replied his father’s cause of death. He vows taking all that he lost.
Holding Lin Wo’s hand, he vows to be by her side. With a passionate kiss, they officially seal their relationship.
The next day, they bail off Su Meihe and offers a deal by revealing the truth to her. Seeing sense to their proposal, she agrees to work with them as long as her evil husband won’t get what he wants.
Gao Shan admits his orchestration to push a point of no return to Su Meihe. Promising to be with him, Lin Wo tells him that he doesn’t have to be alone.
Meanwhile, a man visits Nana which agitated her. Su Yuan who saw them leave together is even more agitated.
“You have no proof. No matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to explain yourself.”
Seemingly everything is flowing smoothly for Yijia’s acquisition but Kang Ming and Sun Li launch an attack. A romantic scandal starring Su Meihe and Gao Shan. Being connected to Most Sky, it won’t look good and might incite a sympathy card favoring Kang Ming.
To fight her boyfriend’s trending scandal, Lin Wo brings him to her secret haven, a villa not known even by her father. While Lin Wo calls for some groceries to be delivered, Gao Shan goes for a house tour. Noticing a photo album, he took a picture of young Lin Wo and her mom.
While munching Lin Wo’s prepared food, Gao Shan agrees that his stay in her villa will be taken as his rest days. And that he would let Lin Wo and Su Yuan take care of his scandal.
“You brought so many things, are you going to trap me here in your house?”
The race to clear Gao Shan’s name is on. Joining the game is Nana who brought the pictures that would prove Gao Shan’s innocence.
Lin Wo assigned Su Yuan to keep Gao Shan company while she works on clearing the issue. When she got home, she happily accepts Gao Shan’s doting of feeding and settling her on his lap.
Lin Wo confirms the photos were not retrieved and gets an order from Gao Shan not to do actions that would endanger her.
The next day, they meet Su Meihe who wants to go heads on with her problem. But Most Sky makes a move to summon Gao Shan back because of the issue. When Lin Wo picked the phone Gao Shan threw, she accidentally saw a message from Kang Ming. Meanwhile, Su Yuan meets Nana upon learning that she bought the photos. He offers to buy it, but Nana ignores his plead.
Lin Wo follows Gao Shan and sees her meeting Kang Ming. He offers to work with him by giving details to Su Meihe’s plans. Acquiescing to Kang Ming’s proposal, Gao Shan informs him of Su Meihe’s card of revealing her husband’s fund misappropriation. Along with that, she will also fabricate evidence.
Unknown to Gao Shan, Lin Wo trailed him and castigates him for getting the job done without regard to whether the process disregards his integrity. Gao Shan confirms he has no other choice and he is wired that way and that no one can stop him. That earned him a slap from Lin Wo. The quarrel was immediately reported to Kang Ming’s right hand which convinced the fiend that Gao Shan is on his side.
In reality, Lin Wo already picked on Gao Shan’s lead for a misleading show. After making sure his girlfriend won’t go busybody while solving Yijia’s case, he goes to the shareholder’s meeting. Clueless Kang Ming gets surprised to see real evidence presented by his wife.
You Complete Me Episodes 13 to 16 Musings
Albeit a few sweet frames in these episodes, my happiness as a viewer can’t really reach 100% because of our hero’s unpredictability. Having a nice and determined female lead definitely does not help either, because you end up wanting to shield her from hurt.
I hope Gao Shan’s revenge obsession would be justified in a way that Lin Wo and all viewers would understand. Obviously, if we had reach this stage of the series, it means we’re in for the good and bad drama times. But, hopefully we won’t get a circling path to resolve everything.
I am guessing, Lin Wo would be pursuing her own career dream after winning this deal. And well, Gao Shan, we know he’s going to drop the bomb soon at the expense of hurting the woman he has grown to love. After that, we can only hope that they can reconcile fast and succumb to the power of love.
For all the small joys Su Yuan takes charge in this series, I also wish for Nana to finally see his worth. Third-wheeling feels sad even in the fictional world.
I am still as engrossed as day 1 in You Complete Me. I’m really hoping that it will not break my heart because it’s part of my first batch of dramas to recap this year and I need a great start.
