“Boyhood” Brandishes Determined-Looking Im Si Wan

Along with its main poster release, Coupang Play’s Boyhood also confirms its premiere on November 24.

Set in 1989, Boyhood tells the story of Jang Byung-tae, a loser whose life goal is not to be bullied. Moving to a new school, he transforms into the school’s best boy overnight. It also features the friendly and humorous Chungcheong lifestyle and humor.

Previously, the first set of filming photos captured Byung-tae, a loner mistaken as the “best boy” on the first day of school at Buyeo Agricultural High School.

Portraying Byung-tae is Im Si Wan whose popular works include The Attorney, Misaeng, Run On and Tracer. In Boyhood, the actor aims to show off his polar opposite charm that goes back and forth between timidity and boldness and heralds the birth of another memorable character.

The first poster makes a commanding presence with Im Si Wan standing majestically on a rice field ridge with eager eyes. The solemnity and triviality that coexist in the figure holding a bachelor’s stance and holding a shovel high create a strange charm.

The note on the poster heralds a feast of delicious lines using the Chungcheong-do dialect and promises pleasant fun and powerful laughter.

Boyhood is gearing up for its November premiere on Coupang Play!
