Scheduled to air in 2023, tvN’s new drama, Lady, confirms the lead and supporting actors who are joining the cast.
Lady depicts the story of a woman who does everything to survive to protect her beloved family. For her to do that, she must become the first lady. Completely forgotten her past, she faces harsh reality and desperately prepares to punish people who shook her fate.
The drama, which sets to premiere next year, is directed by Choi Young Hoon, who worked on One The Woman and Good Casting. Collaborating with him as a creator is writer Kim Soon Ok, who became known for Penthouse and Temptation of Wife. Kim gets attention as this series will be her first tvN project.
In the drama, Lee Ji Ah portrays Hong Tae-ra, the woman running for the first lady because of her husband’s presidential candidacy. Even without regrets about her fame and wealthy lifestyle with her loving husband and beautiful daughter, unfortunately, she has no memories of her past.
Because of this, as memories one by one unveils, it breaks the perfect picturesque life she thought she had. It made her go through an uncontrollable and messy situation, which made her poised to survive and take revenge.
On the other hand, Lee Sang Yoon plays Pyo Jae-hyun, the husband of Hong Tae-ra, who is a genius developer and who is a natural speaker. He has a good and gentle type of leadership. Moreover, he has a sensible personality that considers him a desirable entrepreneur of his generation.
He is popular because of the cranial nerve smart patch, a new technology he worked on that became his advantage for the next presidential election.
Expectations now are on the synergy Lee Sang Yoon will create with Lee Ji Ah.
Lady’s Supporting Characters
Meanwhile, Jang Hee Jin takes the role of Go Hae-soo, the main anchor of YBC, who is loved by many and considered an icon. She is Park Ki-woong’s (Jang Do Jin) wife and the second daughter-in-law of the Geumjo Group.
Despite her confident and dignified personality, Hae-soo has unhealed scars from her past. Unable to escape, she persistently pursues to know the truth.
Hae-soo’s husband, Jang Do-jin, played by Park Ki Woong, is born rich and grew as competitive management IT representative of Haechi Company. He is best friends with Lee Sang Yoon, who has stimulated his competitiveness and gotten him a taste of a bitter defeat for the first time.
Bong Tae Gyu then acts as Go Sung-chan, the funny research director of Haechi, who is an essential member of Kim Soon-ok’s division. He had been with Jae-hyun and Do-jin since his college days.
Intriguingly, he clings to the smart patch research, the company’s core technology.
Working on the series, the production team tells how this project will give the viewers a thrilling watching experience and said,
“It is the story of a woman who has been chosen by the wrong fate. It will be thrilling to see the fierce punishment for those who have driven her life into a pit, and the struggle to protect her family.”
