Longing for You is a 14-episode mystery thriller starring Na In Woo (Mr. Queen, River Where The Moon Rises, Jinxed at First, Cleaning Up), Kim Ji Eun (One Dollar Lawyer, Again My Life, Strangers From Hell, Doctor Prisoner), Kwon Yul (Dali and Cocky Prince, Voice 2-4, Bring it on Ghost, One More Happy Ending), Bae Jong Ok (Mr. Queen, Graceful Family, Secret Royal Inspector Joy, Kingmaker), and Lee Kyu Han (Battle for Happiness, Graceful Family, She Would Never Know, May I Help You).
This drama tells the story of a detective who has been searching for the culprit of a murder case and uncovers hidden family secrets. The gripping storyline sets the stage for an intense and thrilling drama.
Oh Jin-sung (Na In Woo) is a bright police officer who is known to meddle in things that are out of his responsibilities. His friend, Go Young-joo (Kim Ji Eun), is a persistent prosecutor who uses all means to entrap criminals. After joining a special investigations team to investigate a case of serial murder, Jin-sung comes face-to-face with the hidden old secrets of his family.
Ujin is a naturally blessed town boasting the blue sea and Geumgang pine forest. Jin-sang is a detective known for being cheerful in crime-free Ujin, and his younger brother Jin-woo is a chef at the port market with a look that could come out of a fairy tale.
In Seoul, two cases of brutal murder occur. A third murder case occurs in Ujin, and Jin-sang’s younger brother, Jin-woo, is listed as the prime suspect. Thanks to Jin-sang’s investigation, Jin-wu is released and the real culprit is revealed.
But on a rainy night, someone attacks Jin-woo causing him to be brain dead. Jin-woo’s organs which had registered his wish for organ donation are donated, and his remains are scattered in the Geumgang Pine Forest.
A year after Jin-woo’s death, the investigation team receives a video message containing the scene of the murder a year ago. While Jin-sang thinks that Jin-woo’s death and the serial murder case are not related, the boundary between the truth and cheating begins!
Anticipation is high for Na In-woo’s new acting transformation. The production dedicates a lot of effort to successfully cast Na In Woo as they feel he could sync well with the character of his innocent smile and playful nature.
Kim Ji Eun has been praised for her natural and versatile acting. She rapidly rose to stardom after acting in three successful dramas in the span of a year. Thus, she won awards such as Best New Actress at the MBC Drama Awards for her performance and later placed 13th on the 2023 Forbes Korea Power Celebrity list.
The series is produced by Samhwa Networks which created widely popular dramas The Golden Spoon, Again My Life, Dr. Romantic 2, Graceful Family, The Fiery Priest and more.
