MBC Bolsters Drama Lineup With “The Veil”, “The Red Sleeve”, “Tomorrow” & More

Viewers should anticipate MBC’s new dramas of intriguing and fascinating storylines, which will premiere this September until the first half of 2022.

Prominent actors are poised to spearhead new series with thrilling and poignant themes that will undoubtedly make viewers happy and excited.

MBC encourages its audiences to anticipate their scheduled programs, which begin this week with The Veil. The network also sets a new broadcast schedule for the upcoming dramas every Friday and Saturday.

“This is the first time for MBC to present a Friday-Saturday drama, and it will visit viewers with a high-quality drama twice a week at 10 pm on Friday, which are the actual start times of the weekend.  It is also expected to become the best Golden Watch Line in the weekend area along with popular entertainment programs I Live Alone and Point of Omniscient Interfere.”

Starring Namgoong Min, The Veil is a blockbuster action masterpiece about a top agent of the National Intelligence Service in search of the inside traitor.

Namgoong Min will portray Han Ji-hyuk, the National Intelligence Service’s top agent, and Park Ha-sun, Han Ji-hyuk’s motive and the Crime Integration Center’s team leader who keeps a secret.

Along with Kim Ji Eun as Han Ji-hyuk’s partner, The Veil features lauded and seasoned actors such as Kim Byung-gi, Lee Kyung Young, Jang Young Nam, and Yoo Oh Seong.

The Red Sleeve

In November, the MBC Friday-Saturday drama will continue with the full-fledged royal romantic historical drama The Red Sleeve Cuff.

The series narrates a bittersweet historical court romance drama about a court lady who wants to protect the life she has chosen and a king who prioritizes the kingdom over her love. The title alludes to the red sleeves of the court ladies’ garments, which means the king’s woman.

It is an authentic romance historical drama that MBC will air for the first time in two years following the success of Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung in 2019. It is based on Kang Mi Gang’s bestselling novel of the same name.

Lee Jun Ho, who returned from the military with a more mature charm, will portray the perfectionist Crown Prince Lee San, while Lee Se Young, the goddess of historical drama, will embody Seong Deok-im, a court lady who wishes to live her own life.

Tomorrow

Kim Hee Sun will star in the Friday-Saturday drama Tomorrow, which will premiere in the first half of next year.

Tomorrow (directed by Kim Tae Yoon, Seong Chi Wook, and written by Park Ran, Kim Yu Jin) is a film adaptation of the popular Naver webtoon of the same name.

Kim Hee Sun is intended to deliver a fresh kind of entertainment as she portrays Gu Ryun, the Grim Reaper, who is the chief of the crisis management team at Juma-dong, the underworld monopoly’s ghost management headquarters.


Doctor Lawyer

So Ji Sub will also feature in the medical suspense legal drama Doctor Lawyer which is planned to premiere in the first half of next year on Fridays and Saturdays.

Meanwhile, Ji Sub assumes the character of Han Yi-han, a brilliant surgeon who became a medical litigation specialist after losing everything in a fraudulent procedure and unearths a suspicious case involving him in the past.

Doctor Royer is an enthralling medical court drama that addresses a callous world that believes wealth and power can trump life.

From Now on, Showtime!

  • Streaming in 2022 

Park Hae Jin, who garnered widespread praise for MBC’s Kkondae Intern last year, meets with audiences via the weekday miniseries From now on, Showtime!, which has garnered notice from the start due to its unique title.

Additionally, it is a new idea in a romantic comedy in which a magician who employs a ghost meets a female detective and solves a case using psychic abilities.

Park Hae Jin will depict Cha Cha-woong, a magician and employer who works with ghosts, in a one-of-a-kind charming performance.
