Joining the bankable actor is a powerhouse cast including Heo Joon Ho, Ahn Gil Kang, Lee Bum Soo, Gong Myung, Choo Young Woo, and Jo Han Chul.
Cha Seung Won and Lee Joon Hyuk also affirm special participation in the series.
Based on the Naver webtoon Gwangjang, Mercy For None is a noir action revenge series about a man who left his former gang but returns 11 years later after the questionable death of his younger brother.
It was a story loved by many, and it showed a world of cold and intense violence, which is rare among webtoons. Thus, it was common to have high expectations for the video adaptation.
In the series, So Ji Sub plays the role of Ki-jun who sets out on a cold journey of vengeance. He returns to the organization after his brother’s death. This will be the actor’s return to the noir genre since the film A Company Man.
Lee Joon Hyuk makes a special appearance in the role of Ki-suk, Ki-jun’s younger brother. After his older brother left, Ki-suk grew his organization into a company and became its executive director, but his mysterious death sparked an incident.
Lee Joo-woon, the representative of Joowoon, the organization to which Ki-jun belongs, and Gu Bong-san, the head of Bongsan, a rival company, are played by Heo Joon Ho and Ahn Gil Kang, respectively.
The role of Jun-mo, the successor to Bongsan, which became a corporation in the organization that divided Seoul with Joowoon is Gong Myung (Killing Romance, Extreme Job, Lovers of the Red Sky). This is his first noir action role and expectations are high for the transformation he will show as Junmo, who must have what he wants.
Geumson, portrayed by Choo Young Woo, the son of Lee Joo-woon, the head of Joowoon, and a current prosecutor, keeps his distance from the organization but brings tension to the case with his undirected ambition.
The actor has appeared in Oasis, Once Upon A Small Town, School 2021 showing his impeccable transformations in youth dramas, romances, and period dramas.
Lee Bum Soo, who once again proved his presence in Crime City 3, appears as Shim Sung-won, the representative of N.Clean, who is in charge of cleaning up and finalizing crime scenes committed by the organization and was involved in Ki-suk’s death.
Jo Han Chul, who showed his acting skills in series such as Reborn Rich, Big Bet and Weak Hero Class 1 plays Sung-cheol, the right-hand man who follows his boss Lee Joo-woon at the closest distance.
Lastly, Cha Seung Won, who showed his true value in Our Blues and Night in Paradise, makes a powerful appearance as Mr. Kim, who exists to ensure the coexistence of the two gangs.
Mercy For None is coming to Netflix and more details will be unveiled soon.
