“Monstrous” Unleashes Perturbing Character Posters of Koo Kyo Hwan & Shin Hyun Bin

Intriguing viewers with the two people’s unusual gazes, Monstrous introduces a new genre of shamanism, which will premiere in April.

Directed by Jang Geon Jae and produced by Climax Studio, TVING’s original series Monstrous unveils enthralling teaser posters. It reveals the reality of the hell that entwined Koo Kyo Hwan and Shin Hyun Been with the existent mystery noble Buddha.

Presenting a supernatural thriller drama, Monstrous follows people who see hell in their hearts in the town where the cursed Buddha image emerges. The bizarre events that occur in that village where a mysterious ghost appears also add interest.

The pursuit of the turmoil, fear, and unfathomable curse of people carried away by catastrophe creates bone-chilling tension.

Furthermore, working on the project are esteemed creators. Yeon Sang Ho broadens his phenomenal vision adding to his robust portfolio of Train to Busan and Peninsula, as well as the massive hit Netflix series Hellbound, by introducing another Korean-style occult genre centered on shamanism.

Together with writer Ryu Young Jae and Director Jang Geon Jae, the showrunners aim for limitless imagination.

A Suspenseful Teaser Posters

With the first teaser poster drawing the audience’s attention to the start of mystical power, the second teaser poster piques their interest with Jung Ki-hoon (Koo Kyo Hwan) and Lee Su-jin (Shin Hyun Been) appearing to be blinded by the ghost.

Through the flowing material, two humans come face to face with a strange entity. The image of the Buddha mirrored in the deep and dark eyes generates thrills. It also heightens curiosity with strange characters printed on the cloth.

Generating suspense from Jung Ki-hoon and Lee Su-jin’s gazes, spectators easily get intrigued by the real nature of the ghost from the words “those who have seen the eyes are locked in hell.”

Besides that, Koo Kyo Han portrays Jung Ki-hoon, an archaeologist who conducts research on strange supernatural phenomena. He publishes a monthly ghost story, an occult magazine, and a YouTube channel, and comes upon an incredible phenomenon when investigating a ghost discovered in Jinyang-gun.

On the other hand, Shin Hyun Been portrays Lee Su-jin, a genius pattern interpreter who faces a terrible disaster. Due to the death of their only daughter, Jung Ki-hoon, her husband and she lives alone in Jinyang-gun. Then, a disaster brought by the ghost carried them away.

Focusing on the supernatural thriller that the two seasoned actors will bring, it is definitely a series worth anticipating. Notably, both actors are lauded for their solid acting skills and unrivaled charisma. They combine to create a synergy between two people seeking the truth of unknown horror.
