“The 8 Show” Gears Up For Netflix Release

Renowned filmmaker Director Han Jae-rim’s first series, The 8 Show will be released on Netflix next year.

The 8 Show is about 8 people being trapped in a secret space divided into 8 floors and earning money over time. It is a work that tells the story of what happens while participating in a sweet but dangerous game show.

The series depicts the primal desires of characters clashing in a capitalist society under the themes of ‘politics’ and ‘economy’. It has attracted attention as an adaptation of the Naver webtoons Money Game by author Bae Jin-soo, which recorded a cumulative number of 300 million views.

Director Han famed for Emergency Declaration, The King and The Face Reader is expected to capture with a keen eye the characters who repeatedly cooperate, confront, antagonize, and betray in a secret space divided by an unequal structure.

Sweet but dangerous, The 8 Show features talented actors.

Starting with the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards for the film The Night Owl and continuing his streak of winning Best Actor awards at major domestic awards ceremonies Ryu Jun Yeol (Reply 1988, A Taxi Driver) is starring in the series and he reunites with Director Han since The King.

Next, chameleon actress Chun Woo Hee (Unlocked, Delightfully Deceitful) has been proving impressive acting transformation also joins the lead cast.

Park Jung Min who continuously decorates his portfolio with acclaimed works such as Netflix film Time to Hunt and the movies Deliver Us from Evil and Smugglers will be participating.

Lee Yeol Eum, who was lauded in her recent works Nevertheless and Spring in Seoul also makes an appearance.

Park Hae Jun (The World of the Married, Arthdal Chronicles) consistently receives favorable reviews for his acting that brings out the flavors of his characters.

Making her drama comeback is Lee Joo Young, who showed unrivaled characters acting in Just Dance and Bargain.

Reliable character actress Moon Jung Hee (Limit, Search) who shows strong and weighty acting across various genres, is set to decorate the series.

Rounding up the cast is Bae Sung Woo who vauntes his strong presence in the movies The King, The Swindlers, and The Great Battle.

These actors are set to bring out their characters and plan to break each of the eight participants into a series of cooperation, confrontation, hostility and betrayal, making viewers unable to take their eyes off them for a moment.

The 8 Show will be released on Netflix in 2024.
