It has been an eventful run for tvN! Celebrating its 15th anniversary, a roster of drama and entertainment show content has been unveiled!
The 15th-anniversary project of tvN officially commences with a teaser video released earlier. Marking its fruitful 15 years on October 9, the channel, known for revolutionary and hit series, adds new shows to its growing list.
In the promotion video today, Jirisan, Tale of Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi, and Melancholia were highlighted as upcoming dramas in the second half of the year. Likewise, entertainment programs, Hospital Playlist Mountain Village Life, Racquet Boys, and House on Wheels 3, which are scheduled to be launched in October, were introduced.
Jirisan
Gearing up for October global release, Jirisan narrates the stories of the best mountain rangers at Jirisan National Park. Directed by Lee Eung-bok (Goblin, Descendants Of The Sun), writer Kim Eun-hee (Kingdom, Signal) and starring Gianna Jun and Ju Ji Hoon, affirms worldwide premiere in October on iQiyi international, simulcast with Korea on tvN.
Tale of Secret Royal Inspector and Jo Yi
A cheerful comic couple investigation show from the creative team that bought 100 Days My Prince and The Crowned Clown. Headlined by Ok Taecyeon and Kim Hye Yoon, the historical romance drama is eagerly awaited. It is set to premiere in November.
Melancholia
Directed by Kim Sang Hyeop and written by Kim Ji Woon, Melancholia tells the stories of Math teachers and Math geniuses at a prestigious private high school. It would also narrate the corruption that exists in the academe.
The beautifully made plot does not only talk about Mathematics but also tackle prejudices and myths about the math teachers and math geniuses.
Promising doses of delightful moments, new variety shows are decked to launch in October as part of tvN’s 15th-anniversary project.
tvN October Variety Shows
For fans of Hospital Playlist who will surely be missing their favorite doctor squad, they will be treated with a new show to be helmed by PD Na Young Suk following the concept of Three Meals a Day in a mountain village. The show premieres on October 8.
On October 11, a badminton challenge for young people also begins in Racquet Boys. It depicts the journey of new badminton players who will receive coaching from experts and participate in the national competition. Lee Yong-dae, a gold medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and former national team coach and Jang Soo-young, a former national team player will be participating in the show. In addition, Jang Seong-gyu, Yang Se-chan, Oh Sang-wook, Seventeen member Seung-kwan, Jeong Dong-won, Lee Chan-won, and actor Kim Min-ki also confirmed they are joining for the show.
Meanwhile, House on Wheels, which has already reached its third season, is a reality program where you ride a house on wheels, stay in a secluded place, and invite your loved ones to live a day. In Season 3, Gong Myung announced that he will join as the youngest member. Attention is focused on the chemistry that he will show with Sung Dong-il and Kim Hee-won.
