Alchemy of Souls Episode 11 Highlights
Both persistent to be by each other’s side, Mu-deok and Jang Wook aced the tasks needed so they can be together in Songrim.
While Mu-deok enters as a servant, Wook cracked a seemingly impossible challenge Master Park gave him. Reunited, Wook confronts his master about the mutual feelings they haven’t labeled yet.
“This is a clear and dangerous signal. I am in love with this man.”
Telling Wook to forget about what happened, Mu-deok walked away but her student insisted that things that were already exchanged can’t be overlooked. Realizing she has fallen in love with Wook, Mu-deok chose to disregard it.
Wook asserts how he has recently learned to see what is invisible to the eyes declaring he has found out her secret feelings that are the same as his.
Still proudly holding her ground, Mu-deok expressed how Wook got poisoned by an assassin and the antidote is only her. But Wook insists that since she’s the antidote she should be responsible for the toxin she gave to him.
Hanging out with Wook, Dang-gu fondly relays the sweet moments he witnessed between Mu-deok and Yul. Arguing that his maid’s actions don’t have meaning, Wook was shut down when he learned about the day the two spent when he was locked out.
Going through bouts of overthinking about his emotions, Wook is convinced that his one-sided affection really qualifies for him to just get poisoned.
“I do not know much about love. But when you truly love someone, you will not need to say it that often. Because it will be hard just to say it once.”
Later, Yul assessed how “his Naksu” has found her focus. When Dang-gu found his wooden flute, he covered up for her and tells his friend that he gave it. Handing her bag when he met Mu-deok later, Yul tells her to keep the flute. He also presses for her to do a better job so he can believe her previous love confessions.
Mu-deok strongly vouches she’s truly in love with him. But Yul responds how loving someone does not require vocally saying it often when Mu-deok claims she can tell it a thousand times.
Mustering his genuine feelings, Yul confessed the flute is from a friend he failed to make his love confession. Looking through Mu-deok’s eyes, he tells her how he had always wanted to confess he likes that friend so much.
“I told you I was your antidote. Here. Here is your antidote.”
Lovesick Jang Wook failed to sleep contemplating the chances of his newly-found unrequited love with his master. Ordering him to get up, Wook refuses and stakes his situation that he was poisoned.
Determined to cheer up her student, she goes for a cutesy encouragement declaring she is his antidote complete with winking eyes and fluttering fingers. Flashing a stoic reaction, he gets up to go to his class.
Going against everything that Mu-deok coaches him to do to improve his mage skills, Wook relayed to her that since he is suffering, she should at least feel frustrated. Proceeding with his rebellion, Wook also went home and Mu-deok was left with no choice but to stay at Songrim.
Clever Mu-deok gets an idea of how she can bring back her wayward student. She asks Prince Won to have a bet with her and she will stake the most precious thing she has – the blue stone Wook gifted to her.
Momentarily remembering Mu-deok while he’s at home as he stares at his red stone, Wook happily chats with Maidservant Kim who is elated about the recent achievements he has been making. They also agree to ignore the comparisons Wook has been getting as Jang Gang’s son. She also assures him that he will always be precious to her regardless if he is competent or not.
“I can do it! I can be the girl in the portrait! You said I was almost adequate. If you need me to be blind, then blind I will be.”
Meanwhile, Master Park is sensing something wrong with Madame Jin’s meeting with her half-brother Jin Mu whom she does not have a good relationship, to begin with.
Right on the dot, Master Park’s intuition of a deal between the two is going on, Jin Mu has already ordered his men to get blind ladies that would pretend as the long-lost Bu-yeon. Among those is Mu-deok’s hometown friend, So-yi, who is also in possession of Bu-yeon’s piece of cloth which Madame Jin especially made.
Learning So-yi is not blind, Jin Mu orders to get her killed, but she pleads to spare her life and promises to pretend to be the lady in the portrait.
“You said you don’t want a loveless marriage. I figured if I married you, you would at least marry a man that loved you. You should meet a man you have feelings for.”
Paying Maidservant Kim a visit, Master Lee brings a bunch of flowers expressing how the beauty of it inspired him to share with her. While getting a vase for the flowers, she sees Master Park who came to apologize for the recent sour conversation they had.
However, his being clueless even with her clear leading only frustrates Maidservant Kim.
Cho-yeon is accompanied by Dang-gu at the market since she wants to buy flowers to decorate her sister’s room. She shares that Jin Mu helped in looking for her sister and she hopes that this time it will not be another disappointment.
Conveying her happiness to be freed from leading Jinyowon thereby marrying the man she loves, Dang-gu finally confessed his unreciprocated feelings for her. Luckily, Cho-yeon got moved by the sincerity of his vow to love her. Realizing she also feels the same way she agrees to his declaration that he will never give up on his feelings for her ever.
Taking her hand, Dang-gu beams and offers to buy the flowers together happily. However, they stumble on his uncle Master Park who was also buying flowers for Maidservant Kim. Seeing their intertwined hands, Master Park questions his nephew who is in the succession line to lead Songrim.
Dang-gu explains that Cheonbugwan is helping Jinyowon in finding the eldest daughter and insists on being with Cho-yeon. He even checks if by any chance his uncle has a secret child who can become the heir to Songrim.
“When I said I missed you, is this what you meant when you said you had my weakness?”
Receiving an enlightening pep talk, Wook listened to his guardian and decides to go back to Songrim and not slack. Unknown to him, Mu-deok’s arrangement is to hold duels under Prince Won’s command and whoever beats Wook gets a golden toad as a prize.
Learning Mu-deok pawned the stone he gave him, Wook brings her to converse privately. Upset as to why she used the stone that holds meaning between them, she pleads to get the most special thing ever given to her in her entire life.
He relents to get it at all costs since he does not want to share it with the Crown Prince. Truly disappointed, he also tells her that the stone is not worth sharing with her as well.
Fighting Jeonjingak’s mages for a week, only three golden toads are at stake, but Wook is yet to win. The Crown Prince has also realized that he was somehow got fooled by Mu-deok since Wook’s abilities in the first place can’t match the experienced mages.
